Thanks for your comment. Re your question, I remember 990Pro with quite evaluated highs and they have fixed single ended cable, something tuby or class A based would be ideal, not p20 for sure, all depends on your budget but if it's in 100 dollars range the amp I am currently reviewing would be good for them, it's a hybrid tube amp from xDuoo, review will be coming up soon, so stay tuned or then something a bit more expensive to consider would be iFi zen can
As I mentioned in my review I recommend this amp if used in full balanced way/ circuit (full xlr headphones output on front and full xlr inputs at the back) as if not there are better unbalanced amps out there nowadays. If I am not mistaken 990pro have fixed unbalanced cable unless you have it modded.
Thanks. Re your question. P20 doesn't have a line out so I wouldn't recommend using it as a preamp (using the headphone output) as theoretically it will work but there will be impedance and voltage differences in comparison to purposely design line out on the circuit, which will effect the distortion and dynamics.
@@TechRoadTrip thank you very much for your answer. I’ll have to plug and unplug to chance from headphones to passive speakers. My dac has only one output.
Hey bossman i just ordered the black loxjie p20 for my hd6xx to replace my drop 02 amp would my scarletts balanced trs inputs work well with this until i order a topping d10 balanced dac for it to pair with
Hey man, what do you mean? Using Focusrite Scarlett audio interface until you get balanced dac? Should work, you just need cables with trs jacks on one side and full xlr male on the other. So instead to monitors you will connect it to the p20.
I highly recommend to pair with balanced dac (which D30 is not ) as in full balanced path (in&out) there is where this amp truly shines in its performance for the price
