Watching Dave Simpson play this guitar 2 plus years on...what a beast, it surely has to be one of Ben's finest to date simply a stunning looking guitar.
@@Phoenix_cataclysm_in_2040 Ya think so do you? The cheek of the pair of you when you know it is sitting next to me at home as we share a bottle of wine.
I like these super edits cos I can show my non-luthier/non-guitar obsessed friends without them having to sit through the whole 5-10 hours of episodes. They still get an appreciation of the immense Craftsmanship. Personally I still love watching it one episode at a time 😍
Hey Ryan, thank you, and thank you for showing your friends, though I wonder how you gain friends outside of the guitar world!? We're always going to do super edits from now on.. they are easy enough to do and worth the time imo. Thanks for watching! B
Gold hardware is a little polarising, I've often mixed it up with black to minimise the effect but, well.. this one I had to go all out and I am glad I did! Thank you for your support Michael! B
*****FAVORITE build of yours... Ever. PLEASE do one with silver leaf in a similar way (same type of wood and resin). Maybe add some blue to the resin in places, see through blue if its possible. Crazy silver tuners like you got in gold. Maybe a super strat style or an SG shape or maybe like a PRS or EVH shape. You could change things up enough for peoole to be super interested yet they know the quality and style will be the same as your previous build. I would probably make a third one in the series with black hardware and emerald leaf. That would be AMAZING.... Cheers mate. PS: maybe you could add glow in the dark powder to all the resin stuff. Would be amazing when played live.
@@holzleder570 thanks mate. Was thinking maybe pour a third solid blue with the rest on too clear. I just can't believe how good this guitar turned out. Some of the resin guitars can look cheap and tacky but this was all class.. . and I want to see more... Cheers.
I'm not a guitar player, I'm a drummer for literally 45 years, but if i ever hit the lottery here in the states I'd have a room full of guitars I love and I would have this one in the collection for sure. It is simply amazing.
I’ve watched this about six times since it was first completed. I still don’t know of any other guitar on earth Id rather have just for looking at. Once again sir I say to you, amazing. This thing could hang as art beside the Mona Lisa and not be out of place.
Wow that is a stunning creation. Has to be the absolute best guitar I've ever seen as far as being appealing to the eye I literally wouldn't change a thing about it.
That guitar will end up in a museum one day cause it is a work of art well done....... the thing that gives me the chills is the wood..... it waited 3000 years to be appreciated......
That build is extremely beautiful. I have to say that my favorite feature is the carve of the guitar. It is extremely elegant. I would also like to praise the young man that has done the finish. It really takes the hands of an artist to make that black and gold river shine. Awesome !
Incredible. I've seen epoxy and wood in coffee tables and the such, but not in a guitar. This piece is absolutely stunning. Out of curiosity, what would a guitar like this sell for, Ben?
I'm seeing it more and more in real life too, I think many people enjoy watching with no plans to make anything and after a while they start wondering about maybe buying a tool or two.. another year down the line we have a full fledged maker and the process starts again.. one soul at a time :) mwuahahha Thanks for watching. Ben
Came here from Know Your Gear channel, because Phillip McKnight said you don't make guitars but instead 'art'. Saw this one first, and I see a lot of traditional woodworking tools, love this build and expect that I will lose a bunch of time watching others.
I'm not a fan of gold hardware on a guitar, but this one looks perfect and oozes pure class. I can't decide whether this or the Complication is my favourite build so far and soon there'll be the 2020 Explorer to add to the mix as well!
Possibly the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen. I am an aspiring guitar builder and your next level creations are always a huge inspiration. Thanks Ben... keep up the great work. Merry Christmas.
Congrats Ben! Stunning job , loved it. I always hated golden hardware BUT fits so graceful in this piece of art. Million thanks for your dedication and care. I was born between ancient ruins and seeing your creative vein here has been like getting eternal a moment in time.
A very pretty guitar, everything goes together really well, love how the gold leaf is carried through on the body, crown inlays and headstock. Also the small touches add so much, like you I'm not a fan of plastic humbucker surrounds (or even metal ones for that matter) but just dulling them off like you did looks so classy. For me (and I don't know why) but when you decided on the trapeze tailpiece and fitted it the whole guitar just looked fantastic, soooo glad you didn't go for the standard stop tailpiece they're look so bloody agricultural. I think this guitar is a nice balance between being different but not too outlandish, I think the gold leaf is the "star of the show" rather than the resin... It's a pity that the JPS Lotus F1 team aren't still in existence, would have looked great alongside one of their cars back in the day!
I don’t always agree with some of your builds, but this one is a grand slam. This is what I call a custom guitar. It’s unique, artistic, elegant and beautiful. Custom shop Les Paul? Pfff, A guitar like this blows them away everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
absolutely beautiful build. i am going to try building one of my own here in a week or two. i doubt it will turn out a sexy as yours but thanks for the inspiriation!
A shout-out to all those who love to indulge in the argument about "tone woods" on electric guitars. Which gives better tone -- bog wood with gold leaf, or resin? ;) ;) ;)
@@Lamster66 Hello. Do you have any links to where we can hear how "non bog" these guitars built on this chanel sound? I'd be interested to hear if that 10 quid or less from ebay bridge stirrup thing affects the sound goodly.
ANyone who has ever worked with resin, knows what a maddenig job it can be. Im sure there were lots of mistakes. along the way until he developed all his shortcuts and "tricks". I made a few tables but I never could get a first time beauty. I always ended up with some bubbles. Impressed? Damn right.
I love the super cuts to see it all at once but they don’t show the struggles of the learning process.. You make it look so easy in this. It’s an absolutely beautiful guitar.
Yes, I just finished watching all 5 videos of this build. Yes, I am also compelled to watch this 20 minute fast edit version. No, I am not obsessed. I can stop any time I want! Just beautiful!
Por favor, não pare de fazer guitarras nunca mais! Você é muito caprichoso e detalhista, creio que eu seria igual a você se eu soubesse como fazer uma! Meus parabéns amigo !
I have to say. I have been critical of previous videos in the past because of to much talking. But I couldn’t stop watching this build. It’s absolutely stunning. Perfect amount of talk and video. Really loved it. Well done! I am a fan once more!
Thank you, I was very very happy that it came out as planned.. so much can go wrong with a build like this and it gave me many sleepless nights in progress. B
Not only beautiful in it's own right, having all the bling melded into the curvaceous (yes, I know) contours and arches of the classic Les Paul outline, but also inspirational as well. I have just purchased an experimental amount of clear resin from an Amazon supplier and was looking for ideas. And here we are!
It's a WONDERFULL guitar!!! Jamás había visto una guitarra así, es... cómo decirlo... SUBLIME!!! Ojalá y algún día pueda tener algo así en mis manos... YOU'RE AMAZING MY FRIEND!!!
One of the nicest guitars I have EVER seen. I just love the Les Paul shape and own two Epiphones (a gold top and a cherry sunburst flame top). Keep up the absolutely brilliant work. 👍🏻
Great idea for a show, and great execution. If I ordered such an instrument for myself, I would order a rim for the body and neck, I think it would also be a beautiful option
