Thank you! I think it will be more than just OK for live and will be great for recording. Nothing will ever beat an external mic for recording an album. No matter how good a pickup sounds it won’t capture the external string noise the way an external mic does. The great thing about this system is that you can still access the raw HiFi pickups so it’s possible that IR tech could get us there in the future.

Yeah I hear the 2k as well but I also hear it in the guitar acoustically!

I liked it in headphones and preferred the Anthem in the room but I am told there have been a lot of changes since NAMM.

@@aaronshortmusic thanks so much for your feedback. I keep wondering how much the new mic technology will improve the tone. I’ve used the Trance Amulet M before. I liked it, but the Anthem fits my needs better. And if this one can get closer to capturing the tone of my guitar, I’m sold.

50% was my favorite at the show! It gets a little hollow sounding after that.

They are still working on it. I had no feedback at the show but it was mostly running through pedals. I did not try it flat and direct to the synapse speaker but most people have some external EQ at a gig anyway.

I believe they are tweaking it now. Hopefully we will know more soon!

@@aaronshortmusicplease do a comparison between them when you get the hifi duet. also, which one would be more practical in a live setting, ie, which is more feedback resistant.

Maybe because they are used for testing and trade shows! I believe there was a Martin there as well but I didn’t get around to playing it. There was a guy there that uses the Lyric mic and he played it and said he loved the HiFi Duet which I thought was promising.

@@aaronshortmusic of course, this raises the age old question, what is more important? The Guitar or the pick up?

@@thereyougowithbryan6014 Both but some guitars amplify better than others and vice versa. Occasionally you find one that does both well.

Don’t forget there is no post EQ here just the raw tone. Also they have made changes to the system since this video was made.

Well a mic isn’t a pickup and the price is not yet final. They haven’t even finished designing the pickup yet. It could be more or less once it releases. Sweetwater are just taking preorders and I assume they will update customers once it’s ready to ship.

@@telee19 I don’t think you will need it with this but since you can set it to 100% pickup you will still need able to use IR with it.

@@aaronshortmusic however I doubt the two signals will be splittable (due to the crossover) - that would be a nice feature like the Fishman systems but I guess would be antithetical to LR Baggs approach.

@@telee19 Yes it will not have a stereo jack due to the crossover being built in.

It seems to be in line with other high end pickups. I will wait to hear the finished product before I decide.

I agree with this, it’s outta my budget.

It’s in line with similar high end systems. Let’s see if the sound lives up to the price when it’s finished.

It’s going to be different but it’s too soon to say as they are still developing it. I was impressed with what I heard.

​​My concern is that the compromise necessary in making a smaller condenser mic, essentially just made an inferior sounding condenser mic (vs prior Anthem), to prioritize the Hifi transducers. On my original Anthem I have it set almost 90% condenser so the quality of the condenser mic itself is paramount. It could also be I just don't like the tone of that guitar you used to test it because I did like the LR Baggs ​demo. Hmm...🤔 I'm literally baffled. I was really counting on this system being amazing...but now I'm thinking I might go with the K&K Trinity instead if this doesn't match the hype. My OM-28 Marquis can't use the original Anthem due to the glued in saddle. @@aaronshortmusic
