Cheers for posting this. I bought one yesterday partly due to your demo. Got it home, plugged in all my guitars, found the settings I wanted, took it to a gig an hour later and I've never heard any of my acoustics (Martin,Gibson,Tanglewood) sound this good plugged into a Yamaha 512 PA. Best thing I've ever bought
If you have the preamp, take the time to watch this. I've had it set improperly (due to not knowing what the hell I was doing) for so long. Thank you for making this video 10 years ago
Man-awesome explanation! Thanks for not assuming that we're all virtuoso players. Just got my DI, used it a couple of times, but still could tell I was missing something. Glad I checked in.
In the section where you created feedback and then twisted on the notch knob, it was unclear what you were looking at or listening to before deciding the knob was in the right place. Were you trying to make the green lights go down or the feedback sound do something? Please explain. Thanks.
@jodaromi11 I'm glad we could help! This really is an amazing tool for the acoustic performer to dial in just about any sound imaginable. Feel free to contact us for any more information on LR Baggs!
I like the idea of this product, I use Fishman ellipse blend in my Taylor, and also in my Avalon 12 string, I recently got a Gibson j 200 with a, LR Baggs Anthem pickup in it, it has only about the third of the output of the fish mans, As I switch between the boost function would be handy, plus when I go to a gig I’m not doing back line a could use the di to dial my sound, However I agree with some of the comments here, that acoustic sound was horrible, the demo did not let the product shine, The guy was a good player, but the sound was like a £100 guitar with built in electronics, set up by someone who didn’t know what they’re doing. Don’t want to sound too rude, It’s just how I hear it. Cheers
LR Baggs has a video with Ricky Skaggs play a PRS Angelus with a Baggs Lyric pickup into this Venue DI into the board. It sounded great. It is the closest that I've heard to the natural sound of the guitar. This doesn't sound natural........... not in the least. I'm looking for an acoustic preamp for a guitar with the Fishman Rare Earth with Mic. The best video that I've seen, so far, is the Lehle Sunday Driver. It's a buffer box with a volume control!!! The search continues!
i just purchased the Venue DI . I noticed you're using AC power supply. Can you recommend specific AC 9V power supply adapter compatible to the Venue DI? Thanks.
Well that's the first comment we've hard like that! You may want to look into your youtube playback environment! Not intending to be facetious, but if you want to get good results on high resolution youtube audio, you should first be listening at HD resolution (720p actually improves the audio quality), secondly do not listen through computer speakers (use headphones if you don't have proper monitors), and beyond that, if possible, use a proper D/A converter and monitor system.
What do you think to use LR Baggs DI Venue with semihollow Guitar like Gibson '57 with standard '57 pick-up? In this case, would be better flow the signal trough XLR out toward Mixer and PA, or trough lr Baggs Amp OUT Toward guitar Amp, both solid state tube amp? I'd like use eq section on the DI but most of all the antifeedback inside the LR Baggs.
I've owned one for about 5 years Hardly use it , i thought it would be the answer to my sound. I hate playing with all the knobs . I pull it out every now and then and give it another try But always still has a certain sound about it I just don't like no matter what I do , I want a more aggressive sound a little over driven if you will, It just wont let me have .
great pre amp. It has a sound engineers method for tuning which is great as it has very use full sweepable eq to really make the guitar shine. is the di output for the desk able to be pre/post eq? great clear demo, thanks
hello i have same DI box.well,i d like ask; how should we connect this unit,if we sing through a vocal prosessor which follows guitar chords(voice live touch).i want to hear more quality and fully guitar and also hear my back vocals.
@soundpurestudios Thanks once again! Can you please tell me if the effects send and return jacks on the back of the Venue DI are ok for sending the guitar signal into a few TC Helicon Vocal Pedals and then a guitar Compression Pedal before returning it? Thanks for your help!
Like the idea of a foot pedal but they are designed for feet and that is some reaching you go through to tune your guitar to an event, I would prefer the controls on a mic stand wow you have some great effects
@jodaromi11 It can definitely be used with those pedals. You might want to experiment with the order, but I've seen many acoustic players dial in some amazing tones from a vast array of boxes in combination with the venue DI.
+sławomir Dolata You want the pickup "Anthem SL classical". Its the best sounding for flamenco/classical. This pickup in this video ruins the ability to hear the pre amp quality
Nothing beats a good microphone If you’re sitting down. You have a good guitar. No need for pickups. This is a class Di baggs makes incredible gear But ive never liked soundhole magnetic pickups myself. But if you do have a pickup. LR Baggs makes incredible DI boxes if you cant dial in a good sound With this You need help Again. Acoustics instruments are best with a microphone
Appreciate you saying so! We can take care of you when you are ready to pick one up! We typically have them in stock here at Sound Pure, and we always offer the best possible pricing. E-mail me if you'd like, Robinson(at)SoundPure(dot)com
for live sound you always have to compromise the sound quality.... you don't always have good mic and soundman on stage it's not a bad information for live thanks~~

Seems sort of biased. Not everyone uses Baggs amps, with Baggs pickups, and Baggs Di. Not saying that you should test this with everything on the market, but it should be a little more real world. Mix it up guys.

+Steve Mineer It surely still sounds like a guitar through a pickup. But it is interesting to record with a stereo pair of mics and add the pickup run through the Venue. It give a little but more punch to the tone. But for a concert it is certainly a nice piece of gear.
I agree with you. I was interested in the product, so I did a Google search and this was the first video that came up. I think it sounds horrible to me too, and totally put me off this.
@@Gemm250 After (very) extensive tryings-out I ended up buying a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI. It's pricey - but my amplified guitar *finally* sounds like an acoustic guitar again. Never playing another gig without it.
