Day 2 of LS Fest Las Vegas was great. I got the car on the drag strip again. This time with the Mickey Thompson street drag radials. Hopefully they help me hook better and I can get a better launch. Thanks for watching!
run the car in 1st gear and then slap it into auto the car will shift the gears faster and smoother rather than doing them manual. trust me it will give you better times
@Matt G it's not great at all. I'm confident it's me and not the car. I gotta get better at my launch. Too much tire spinning, wrong tire pressure, and I don't think I'm shifting at the best spots. But with a little practice, I'll get it.
@@autovice hope so man. I'd ask the tuner what to shift at.. but regardless of tire spin mile per hour should be a lot higher.. I'd say at least 115+. What was the density altitude?
Drag racing a manual is much harder than autos, but you've got the power for 11s for sure. Good job dropping two seconds from your ET. I don't think I'll run my G8 at the drag strip now that it's been converted from an automatic to a manual - it would break my heart going from 11s to what would probably be 13s! HPDE is more fun anyway :)
@Apex Missing Ape I have a whole new respect for drag racing. I figured it would be difficult, but I had no idea how precise it would be. Your right, the car should do 11's. I need to get some more track time to figure it out. HPDE? is that like Time Attack?
@@autovice Launching is tricky as hell. HPDE is where you take your car on a race track (like Laguna Seca, Sebring, Willow, etc.) and basically just have fun and improve your driving skills. Starting off you have to have an instructor sitting shotgun and they'll show you where the racing line is, when to brake and accelerate out of a turn, trail braking... You're on the track with 15+ other cars but depending on your level, you can only pass in the straights and when you get the point-by from the other driver. Keeps it safe and fun. No official times are recorded. I have a video on my channel from last year when I did my first HPDE at Barber Motorsports Park if you want to get an idea of what it's like.
@Jaiden Hinkle The main thing is stroking it out to a 416. There is some other mods like a performance clutch and exhaust, but those are pretty minor. Here is the link to the Dyno video after the engine was built and broken in. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--6HTRECpVBM.html
