My respect for Texas has returned after the acquittal of A.G. Paxton. The first thought I had was glee, that the 'little' man Phelan, from Beaumont had lost. Texas needs to remember that his district - Beaumont, Jefferson Country Texas is a liberal area and always votes for far left candidates, so Phelan's Republican status is only accepted as long as he goes along with left leaners. How in the world could he be put in leadership when this has to be known? Congratulations to Texas and thank you Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, your words after the acquittal. They needed to be heard.

The people of Texas are upset about this process that should have not been allowed to continue as it is obvious there goal was to disrupt the office of the attorney general and to stop the good work that was in process not to mention the waste of our valuable resources. The people that created this mess need to receive some sort of penalty. It would be nice if they would have to repay the state for the lost resources associated with this false accusation.

I listened live to his closing remarks today. Hadn’t really followed the shenanigans leading up to this vote. But coming from a peripheral law background, I was appalled and disgusted at the lack of due process afforded this man, if what Mr. Patrick said was true. Having not lived in Texas all that long, I am now going to pay much closer attention to my state representatives and senator to see how they voted. And I will remember this come election time. 🇺🇸
