In a twist of fate, this year Jonathan Atkins and Tick Performance came out strong in the Grubb Worm, seizing records including the Fastest GM stick shift, Fastest RWD stick shift in the US, and First/Fastest LT1 in the 7s! It's just a destroked and forged lt1 with block filler so it's actually around 329 ci probably no more than 7 or 8k on the whole motor build

Cleetus was there and in that class. He was eliminated in the first round. Didn't have anything for these guys. Cleetus won a 2000$ side bet racing one of the slower stick cars at world cup that weekend during qualifying. Video was about a week ago from Cleetus big head.

Looks like he cut his hair with toenail fungus clippers and shifts slower than anyone. Cleetus is a T-shirt salesman. Not much else.

@@6gendj584 yep, I've also owned both. My 97ss lt1 355 h&c A4 has so much torque it peels out 0-50. And that's with stock 2.23s gears. Wish id kept my ws6 though Love the look of the ram air and the SS.

If it had a full billet block like the red demon it would blow the door off it. Billet block throw all the boost at it you want

Billet does mean more power sooner and on the big end with more boost! Billet block don’t move under heavy loads like cast iron.Half the cylinders means weight brakes. I promise he was bringing in the power slow on the cast iron block. I like the red demon it’s a bad ride for sure. Put billet block in that Camaro and red demon going to be in trouble or really have to show his hand.

I had a Mystic Teal 1995 Z28 with heads/cam/headers and swapped the 4L60E to a M6 myself, loved that car and wish I still had it. Those old LT1's sound so good compared to LS motors. Glad to see this guy killin it.

Iv always loved the first LT1 the z28 Camaro from those days was a super fun quick car!! Its basically a just a small block chevy but he said 1450hp or so that car is running so he had to of done alot of work to the lower end of that engine if its a stock block! I beleive if it came out of a caprice or a camaro its a two bolt main block, he would have to splay the block and do all kinds of other work.

Both engines are great in fact any engine can be fast with time and money no matter the year or model the problem.is set everything right as a hole pakage really you wont need thst much hp at tge end for example there are gtrs with2000 hp runing 7s and this bad boy is runing 7 on 1400hp thats what i call intelligent work who is inbolved in this car work is a big Brain

Its not the lt1 that's magic. The lsx can just as easily make that kind of power. He has that thing dialed in perfectly. Weight distribution and weight transfer combined with a great tire help a ton with traction and tuning the suspension and slipper clutch help really get the short track times down low. Add in a great driver and he is going to be very hard to beat any time soon.

Their ain’t nothing wrong with them old Chevy small blocks. You can make big power with them. LS got their popularity because their dirt cheap with a decent factory flowing cylinder head. But once you venture into aftermarket stuff it’s a wash.

Look at 50Tussin, that guy runs 10's on a 200k mile 302 stock short block with over 500 passes on it with a T5 and drives the thing an hr and a half to the track and he shops at junkyards and eBay, lol.

No reason an LT1 can't make whatever power (money) you want to put in it. LS are more common these days and lots of trick parts around.

The fastest stuck shift is a DSM running 7.1's. This only ran 7.3's. ?

A 1500lb, AWD DSM. The little Talon makes massive amounts of power for a little 4-banger.

@@tonyfrance4100 It's actually about 2350-2400 lbs last time I seen it weighed. which is still pretty damn light, especially with about 1800hp. DSM's weigh about 3200lbs stock which still seems pretty damn heavy IMO.

@@athotboy5050 3200 for an early Talon/Eclipse does sound really heavy. I always thought they were much lighter than that.

@@tonyfrance4100 My old 91 talon weighted 24oolbs with seats in and me in it. The 2g's weighted a little more. They aren't light cars. I had a bunch if fun with it though.
