There is no difference between the super chargers wet vs dry sump. However, you are exactly correct about the snout difference. You can swap the snout to have the right belt alignment; however, GM does not sell it independently. The bricks were changed to improve airflow as the earlier flat supercharger had heat problems. The newer blower does much better with cooling and circulation. Great video to show the differences.
Thank you’ I’m getting Dino this weekend and I had enough time to order a grip tech pulley adapter for wet sump Since my c7 stingray with a built wet sump block and heads , I got a secrete x king blower with a dry sump Z06 blower and ordered the same 2.30 for wet sump !
I wonder will they do identical, engine configurations for the Camaro, and the Corvette. Seeing now the Corvette is mid engine, and there is no way they will have identical performance. Making the Camaro the supreme pony car, further distancing it with already better performance, than Mustang.
Thanks for sharing I'm planning my own LS swap once I graduate in May and I was thinking about using an OEM blower although I'll be using an LS not an LT I don't want to mess with direct injection but thanks so much for putting this info out there it's all those little things I remember all those little problems when I built my own m90 supercoupe supercharger setup on my mustang
my friend camaro ZL1s never came with the small lid ever so that supercharger did not come off a camaro, only the z06 vette before 2017 came with the small cooling bricks and flat lid, gm put the bigger ones in 2017 models of camaro and vette and zl1 was made in 2017 so it only came with the big cooling bricks and tall lid..
You are so wrong on these 2 superchargers, the supercharger on the left does not belong on a 6th gen Camaro it belongs on a 2016 v3 cts-v, the 6th gen Zl1 Camaro came with the upgraded cooling bricks and lid just like the one on the right , also the 2015/2016 c7 z06 have the old style supercharger that looks just like the one on the left with the flat bricks and flat lid on 2017 the upgraded the bricks and lid on the v3 ctsv and c7 z06 and the 6th gen Zl1 already came with it upgraded from factory.
Thanks for the input. As stated in the video I was not 100% sure on the bricks. The supercharger on the left was off a crate LT4 engine. It has the spacing of the camaro. The CTS-V and Camaro share the same offset. Looks like the difference according to you is the CTS-V has the slanted bricks. I have read that the bricks only make a small difference in cooling the IAT's. If anyone has anymore info on this please post it up.
It’s only in the snout. You can use the blower you can even use the z06 snout but with the right pulley on it. The back half of them is identical. I just put a 2015 zo6 one on my 17 zl1 and I’m just switching to The zl1 nose to it. But they also make the pulley to make it work. The only real difference is in the bricks and lid and that also swaps between them. So really any blower can work for any application with the right pieces to match it up.
The dry sump crank isn't shorter its .900" longer to fit the dual stage oil pump, the serpentine system on the corvette (dry sumps) is only 2 stages/belts vs 3 on the camaro/ctsv (wet sumps) is why the supercharger spacing is different and as others have mentioned there are pulleys to space out the dry sump blowers to wet sump spacing
So I have a lt4 that I bought from a salvage yard.. 2018 zo6 had 10,000 .... Connie confused on what exactly i'm on a needed do to To put on my 2003 avalanche 5.3
Quick question, I have a 2008 LS3 6.2 base and there's a great deals online for lt4 superchargers out of the 2015-17 vets, will these superchargers work on 08 model base c6 vette LS3 ? Thanks
What transmission goes hand and hand with this shit and how hard would it be throwing this bitch and an old envoy I have a project I wanna do looking for a racing engine that would fit
Hey, just to be clear. Did you put that Camero Supercharger on an LT1 engine with an adapter plate? I have a 96 LT1 in my Roadmaster and would like some more power.
Awesome video thanks for the info I have been considering doing my 2012 5.3, but not exactly sure what to be buying. any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hello lads !!! This S4 it is a monster of AWESOMENESS boys, the Star Trek Enterprise shuttle have nothing on AUDI... the power, the beauty and the safety look like they are just arrived from another dimension... a very advanced one, i'm such a humongus fan folkes . I wonder if i can adapt a supercharger on my sedan AUDI 2006 A6 4f2 C6 Quattro 2.4 MPI natural aspirated, 24 valves V6 DOHC, does anyone heard, seen or done anything like that... or almost the same on AUDI ??? PLEASE, if some one can give me a tip, ideea, advice i'm asking for help... THANKS and be well always folkes !
I would like to ask you a question. If I have a Corvette 2017 lt1 engine and wanted to put on a gen6 Camaro lt4 supercharger off a lt1 would It fit. I am not installing it in a Corvette maybe a c10 so good clearance would not be problem. Just needed your help
media.chevrolet.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2014/Aug/0820-8speed/0820-compact-powerhouse.html Here you go this article was 2015 when the c7 z06 came out . I’ll try to find one for the 6th gen Zl1 since it seems you don’t be alive what I’m telling you .
Bob Lund incorrect. I don’t know who told you that info, but there’s only one dry sump LT4 engine, and that’s in the Vette only. The LT4 ZL1 shares the same wet sump system and supercharger as the V3. There’s no oil tank in the ZL1 engine bay for the a dry sump system.
@@davefossler1550 I own a 2018 ZL1 and it definitely is a dry sump gen 6 LT4. The crate version is a wet sump but if you check GM's specs the gen 6 is a dry sump.
Appreciate the info cause I’m about to do my first supercharger swap and I was looking at a z06 charger, so get a camaro supercharger if I was doing a 6.2/8l90e LT regular motor?
Well depends on what you trying to do. Like for example if you want to retain all the factory gauges and factory features like your key fob. Then you will need to rewire quite a bit. But just to get the engine running and driving all you need is a terminator x max from holley super easy and noob friendly just need to know your reluter wheel if it's 24x(gen 3 older ls 4.8 5.3 5.7 6.0)or 58x(gen4 newer ls 4.8 5.3 6.0 7.0)
Like I mention before 2015/2016 c7z06 and v3 CT’s-v came with the flat bricks and Lid , 2017 6th gen Zl1 which it was the first 6th gen Zl1 already came with the upgraded supercharger Bricks and Lid also 2017 c7z and CT’s-v were upgraded in 2017 , I personally own a 2017 Zl1 and it came with the upgraded bricks and lid from factory they never came with the Flat bricks or Lid. I’m a mechanic and have worked on a few 2015/2016 c7z06s and they have the flat bricks and lid hence why I said you were wrong , I would post pictures but I can’t since it’s not my post and it’s you tube.
Incorrect about the CTS-V3’s getting the canted bricks and lids. That mod was only done to the 2017 ZL1’s and Z06’s. The 2017-2019 V3’s still run the non canted bricks and lower lid.
Dave Fossler yes I was wrong about the gen 3 CTS-V they do not come with the same bricks or lids as the 6th gen Zl1, they still have the old style flat bricks and lids like the 2014/2016 c7z06.
Going from racing with my LSA supercharger to my LT4 supercharger and having a serpentine setup on the lsa and breakin belts then going to a dedicated drive I don’t recommend a serp setup with any supercharger. They break belts and will leave you ass out. They never break in front of the parts store either 😂😂😂😂 but anyways when u get the tune let me know hell I’ll split it with ya tuning shops here are a joke. I sent my stock tune out a month ago and haven’t heard anything yet.
bad4health Having the charger run on its belt is definitely the best way to go. I am saving up for a drive junky setup but this will get the tires spinning in the mean time
Hey man. Nice project. Would you mind share about plugging the pcv. Do you have any issue on built up pressure on crank case? Did you plug the hole at the bottom of supercharger
