I went to school to be a carpenter and on my 18th birthday our truck driver got hurt and by my 19th birthday I was driving tractor trailers and 42 years later that’s all I’ve done, my first trucking job I had to do P&D in Northern NJ and NY City and the best thing Chuck says is take your time and also don’t be afraid to get out and look !!!
I love how you are thorough with your driving and job overall, no shortcuts. Hey, we're only human and all have thought about taking the easy route for multiple reasons. But, if you do it right or the very least try and make an effort there is more satisfaction knowing you did a good job and ultimately in my opinion make someone else's day a bit easier. Could be the next guy to touch the freight all down the line to the end consumer.
Great video and even better backing skills Chuck! My dad was an LTL driver, though they were just called drivers back then, and he could back a trailer through the eye of a needle. I can't back my way into an easy chair. LOL! Great work and you have a blessed day as well!
These videos are helping me a lot. I haven't driven trucks in 6 years and just about to get back into it. I used to be otr and going to try ltl. Kind of nervous lol but I know I'll be ok. Thanks for the great content
I’ve driven with my tandems at the rear because the load I had required it to be legal. It happens. Not every driver can slide them all the way to the front.
I have always wanted to be a truck driver, I have a love for driving. The only thing is that I don’t know how to drive a manual tranny. Otherwise I would of made it a career .
I’m in local beverage delivery and I’m currently looking into p&d, a lot of LTL companies here. Estes here requires forklift experience and I don’t have any.

It looks like a nice place to live, these towns you go to Chuck, but i couldn't live in an area where my house could disappear in a storm at any time. When i go to sleep at night or during the day, i don't want to be waken up because my house is close to going bye bye down the road.

I managed to pull off some perfect back-ins when I was driving. I was with Prime Inc. at the time, but now I'm looking for companies that are not OTR. If you can recommend me some like that, I would really appreciate it.
@@TheTulsaTrucker awesome thanks for your reply. Also the ltl company I work now I average 55 hours a week 5 days a week is it about the same for you? ( I know every area is different but just a ball park)
