Abf pay overtime after 8 hours free insurance for you and your family ,and 7 sick days king day off with pay ,your anniversary day off with pay, your birthday off with pay,and a pension.
Thanks for this video man, I just got hired by R+L Im starting this week, it really encourages me and gives me positive vibes to start the job with great hope, thanks man! I’ll be driving class B P&D
No OT pay? Ok, I'm not applying now. I make under $4 less driving for Amazon, but I get OT every week at my location, and it's closer than the R&L locations close to me. It wouldn't be a net positive for my income.
I was an LTL driver for 30 years, i'm retired now an don't miss it one bit. It has changed so much in the last 20 years. I used to love my job.....when i retired i hated to go work. I was with CF for the 1st 16 years. Got a decent retirement. Last 14 years with non-union carrier.....no overtime pay an it sucked.
All customers need their freight, not just restaurants. I’ve been doing LTL P&D for 20 years, bring backs are pretty rare, I have maybe one every three weeks or so. The company should pay for all equipment needed to do the job.
I'm currently doing food service. I'm looking forward to the day when I give it up for good. The money is great, the wear and tear on the body isn't worth it.
Is the starting pay different for guys coming in with some experience such as otr over a yr? If so do you have an idea of what that maybe? Thanks for the content as well bro.
The fact that there are still trucking companies that follow that old bill disgusts me. It also shows that they don’t value their drivers. If you work over 40 hours you should receive OT like the rest of the world.
Awesome that you finally posted a video..likee the content at the end. Definitely should do more of it. I live out here in California (central valley). I jave a buddy that work at R&L carriers in Ceres ca. They start out at $30/hr. Been trying to get in as a P&D driver but the terminal manager keepa saying there just waiting for the "bill count" to go up....i just got my hazmat in January specifically to do LTL freight....hopefully they pick up soon.....keep the video's coming and be safe out there.
@@steverussell6642I didn’t say you won’t get money from the pension that is not what I said what I said yellow no longer had the pension since they got rid of the contributions in when 2009? Don’t try and twist what I’m saying. Anyways ya ABF still contributing to my pension
Pretty cool stuff man. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, been doing food service for about 9 months now, pushing through it but I'll probably try jumping over to LTL sooner if not later because food service is definitely a bit grueling at times. LTL definitely looks a little bit more like what I'm looking for. We've got xpo, Estes, and abf in my area that I know of off the top of my head. You happen to have any recommendations out of those three? Appreciate your videos 👍
@@christopherpape4823 There’s a guy called trucking through life. His name is Chuck works for Esters. RU-vid. I’m over delivering parcels. Lol P and D doesn’t look too bad
I work for R&L too. 100% ALL LtL companies should provide electric jacks to their drivers. I’m glad RL pays for them up front & we pay back $25 per week. Great program
