I have a 2008 ltr450. It was running fine. Then it was running rough and won't idle. Have to be on gas for it to fire up. But when I was on the gas it was running fine.
Okay so what I did was simple remove the filter. And left the canister in there. Then I put a inline fuel filter on the side before the pump. One of my very first ltr videos may have that content in there. But I honestly forget if I put that in.
Not in awhile. I run a mixture of 93/110 octane to help with this a little. Make sure you filters are clean also before not getting the proper fuel flow could cause this to I would think.
I did not have this issue. My light still works just fine. May just be a coincidence or make sure you didn’t pull a connection loose when you were removing the filter.
So I have a 2006…. Just picked it up. Ran great when I bought it. Now it falls on its face when given throttle. It slowly started while I was riding, it started bogging then eventually doing what yours was. Everything appears to be stock. Would you start by deleting swirl filter and adding inline filter?
@@FullSpeedImpulse I did the swirl delete. The filter was plumb full of dirt/sand. Put it back together(gutted). Also installed an inline fuel filter. Now it’s getting clean fuel… still won’t rev up. Just backfires And dies out. Next do the fuel pump filter ?
I’m new to the ltr, I got one as a practice bike but I race a 16 yfz450R, my ltr is a 06, what is the difference between the yoshi data, pim, pim2, and cherry bomb?
I’m not sure on the others. But all the cherry bomb does is unlock a hidden map that Suzuki put in their bikes. So if theses are all the same plug and play style then they are prolly the same. You won’t see a difference until you spend the money on a actual programmer.
I be curious what you think about the programmer vs what you have now. I don’t race. But I also have a yfz I built from the frame up that is definitely my favorite. These ltr are good quads though too with only a few mods.
@@FullSpeedImpulse yeah I know a vortex would probably be the best thing but they cost a lot and plus I’m not gonna build this ltr like my race bike since it’s only gonna be a practice bike so I might just reflash the stock ecu idk yet
Cherry bombs are cheap and you’ll notice a good difference. Open up the back of your stock exhaust or aftermarket exhaust. No air box lid. And they recommend a higher octane i believe also if you want.( I assume this more to help with the advanced timing curve and also it running lean since your higher octanes actually burn slower.)
So far I haven’t. The main filter seems to do the job as long as you keep it clean. I like to run Berryman or Seafoam through it every once in awhile. Doesn’t hurt
I just got a 2007. First day it ran great next morning i go out for a ride the chain pops off than it start bogging down 3/4 Is throttle in all gears. Anyone know what the problem could be? Its my first atv i just payed 2500 for it i hope it aint nothing major
@@FullSpeedImpulse mines 2007 but mines doing alot of back firing on full throttle but idle good i just got a full rebuild on her any suggestions but i notice my fuel filter is dirty ass hell im waiting on new fuel filter to come on now to change it out see if it improves
That new fuel filter should do the trick. I'd personally eliminate the pod. And put one in line on the side that is cleanable. Save you alot of time and be easier to keep clean! Hope you get her rippin again!
