I also remember this ad from my child hood and learnt all the maori words the kaumatua was saying. But more importantly learnt the message about the importance of wearing my seatbelt and teach my kids to do the same. Kia ora
Yes, I think you are correct! Only the front passenger son and his mum survived the accident! The son at the end is thinking “thank god I did the right thing”
@@ruantengyiThis commercial - filmed on location at a beach on the North Island's East Coast - told the story of a Māori father and his five kids, i.e. four sons and a daughter (not the mother). After a day at the beach, the car that carried all six people accidentally went downhill. The father and the three sons were killed because they refused to wear their safety belts. The youngest son and the daughter survived as a result of their safety and were seen at a cemetery with their mother, who, in fact, was not involved in the accident. The commercial, directed by Lee Tamahori, ended with the phrase "Always wear your safety belt."
A lot of idiot drivers in NZ. I saw the exact same situation occur the other year (some idiot overtaking on a blind corner) but it was sheer luck nobody was coming the other way.
I don't understand why you wouldn't DEMAND that your kids wear a seat belt. Those are your babies. I know she tried and the one kid refused but that's when you put your foot down.
UK don't show these ads they should as you get overtaken and undertaken so dangerous. In the UK 🤔 these idiot drivers 🥴 think it's very important to get 1 car ahead they would happily cause an accident just to get in front. Any stretch of road with no speed cameras are a race track.
John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
