"The Lusiad" is an epic poem about Vasco da Gama's adventures during his circumnavigation of Africa and his discovery of the sea route to India. It imitates Virgil's Aenid and has the Greek and Roman gods & goddesses participating in the story. It sounds fascinating and l hope to read it soon in English translation. It is such an inspiring image of Canoens swimming to shore after a shipwreck swimming with one hand and holding up the precious manuscript of The Lusiad with his other hand!
Good job bro. I can't believe that there is only 5 likes and 92 views. This guy does a great job getting Portuguese facts and all you get back from the Portuguese is nothing. Such a shame that most dont care about their history. I do and I will always love Portugal and its beautiful history.
Well done ,Luis Vaz de Camoes is unfortunatly not known as it should be outside Portugal, this is to blame to the Portuguese goverment. If Portugal had done what England did with Shakspeare Camoes would be celebrated like he deserves.
