This is the second and final part of my film on the District and Piccadilly lines.
Today we continue our journey along the District and Piccadilly line routes where we left off in the previous part.
The first station in the film is Turnham Green. This station is served by the District line alone most of the time and the Piccadilly line rushes through the station (except early mornings and late evenings, when Piccadilly line services also stop here).
The next station is Chiswick Park, which has a very interesting and quite unusual architecture. Originally opened in 1879, it has been rebuilt between 1931 and 1932 to today’s appearance.
The final station in the film is Acton Town, which is also the first station where the Piccadilly line regularly stops after Hammersmith station. Acton Town is quite busy and we see some crowded Piccadilly and District line services stopping in beautiful evening light.

OK so at 04:30 to 04:37 there was this snipping hissing electric noise on the tracks and it came as that Piccadilly line train approached that curve before the station who knows what it was and why do subway train and light rail trains tracks make that noise someone please tell me. also I like that neighborhood and that station it looks quite peaceful there.

the sound from the rails is the trains conductor shoe making contact and sliding on the conductor rail.

+Stephen Boyle oh well how come light rail trains and other subway trains make that noise even though subway trains in America have one third rail

Watch some of your vids at time to time. Glad you came over across the pond and sampled the London Underground personally. Luckily you came over in time before the D Stock (District Line) gets withdrawn, very soon.

The District Line runs as a local service using outer tracks, and the Piccadilly Line runs as an express, using inner tracks.

Sometimes at Ravenscourt Park (both directions) and Stamford Brook (westbound only), Piccadilly line trains change drivers.

Of course no Piccadilly Line trains stop at Ravenscourt Park, Stamford Brook or Chiswick Park and for most of the day they also skip Turnham Green.

nice video and for the D78 it's BMT/IND sized which means it can possibly run as a Museum train from Coney Island to Jamaica Center /207th street via D train's Manhattan Bridge or F train's Rutgers Street tunnel

+Finnish Railways I was in London a week ago, and there were still some D78 stock trains in use, but not many.

The D Stock as of the 10th of August 2016 s still in frontline service, full withdrawal cannot take place because S7 Stock for the District Line is being used for the testing of Automatic Train Operation (ATO) at the Old Dalby test track.Furthermore new trains are still being stored at Ruislip depot waiting to be commissioned.These combined factors will prolong the demise of the D78 stock until at least mid-September.Also I hear that a 5 car unit of D78 will be used on the Metropolitan Line as a Rail Adhesion Train(RAT).

Great video. I'd just like to ask how you made the 'fade from grayscale to colour' effect at the beginning of your videos? I couldn't find it in any obvious places in iMovie.

+Victor Tsai That's easy: Take a clip and split it where you want the fade to occur. Make one of the parts (eg the left one) black & white (by adjusting the colour sliders), and then just add the crossfade transition to where you added the split. The length of the transition controls how fast the fade will be.

FITTbog yes, the Heathrow (previously Hounslow until 1977) and The Uxbridge branches are the western terminus of the Piccadilly, though some trains do terminate short at Northfields and Rayners Lane

well at Acton town is the last 4 platform stop then Piccidilly trains to Heathrow diverge meanwhile the infrequent Uxbridge/Rayners Lane trains diverge at Ealing Common

It is not illegal by default; if I’m asked to stop by the station supervisor, though, I am complying of course.

nothings illegal about taking a photo or video on the underground or even the mainline trains - as long as you don't use a flashgun or tripod and don't outstay your welcome on the station
