I know this storyline is going to get better but it saddens me how some gay teens do go through this in their lives. I hope Lucas realizes he is worth of the gay love he wants with Dillon and that it is okay to have it.
Definitely didn't like how those blokes treated Lucas.Hawthorne and Carter are phony creeps they should be ashamed of treating a kid like that.Manipulating and forcing him to stay when he wanted to leave disgusting.
he was being difficult kid yknow, carter help him not to get expelled. Maybe carter did this therapy conversion thinking he is a failure that's why he's helping lucas not to be the same like him bcs noone helping his inner "demons" going back to JP . his actions wasn't being read very well towards the audience perhaps. Good writing probably wrong execution.
Carter and Declan are really hurting Lucas. Forcing Lucas to have these talks around sexuality and religion when he isn’t religious. Bringing up Amy’s death, when they’re trying to turn him into someone like Ryan who killed his mom because he couldn’t handle his sexuality. And then when Lucas was talking about his feelings for Dillon, he was so happy. And they had to get angry and make him feel ashamed of who he is. I can’t believe they blamed Amy’s death on homosexuality, and not the behavior they’re forcing onto Lucas. I can’t wait for Carter to be found out.
Religious zealot will do anything and say anything, there's not a level low enough that they won't stoop too if it means they can shame and manipulate someone to conform to their twisted ideas. Bringing up Amy is par for the course.
Dillon leaving the watch Lucas admired was really sweet. He really cares about Lucas. Hopefully someone can get it fixed. I loved how Lucas talked about what he loved about Dillon…before the groomers shamed him for it…
Thanks for uploading this video. Hearing carter and his mate giving Lucas all this propaganda bullshit is so disgusting that it made me want to spew. I really hope that hollyoaks will actually deal with this topic in the right way because there's a risk that young teenagers who watch this will actually buy into that lbgt community needs to change in order to live a good life and be loved by God. Which is nonsense because God loves everyone.
The way Lucas was glowing talking about Dillon, to then instantly be destroyed was painful to watch. Hurting himself was 10x worse knowing he did it with a gift Dillon gave him.
What those men are putting Lucas through is psychological torture. I'm genuinely struggling to keep watching it, and I'm so angry - because even though this is a fictional storyline, there are predatory bigots out there who attempt conversion therapy on vulnerable teenagers and men all over the world, and it's sickening and wrong.
Not even 2 minutes in and I am struggling to continue watching. Awesome. I understand this is an important storyline and it needs to be done justice.... but dear lord let it be over soon because if I have to listen to those two fanatics for long I am going to break my brand new laptop out of frustraiton. I know, I know I could stop watching but unfortunately I'm kinda invested in Lucas and Dillon.
@@767wattsyit took me almost 40 minutes to get through this clip I paused it so many times just to scream into a pillow. It's absolutely revolting the bs they are spouting. The fact it based on reality only pissed me of a thousand times more.
@@remruna3538 See I just completely skip the scenes all together because I think they are f***ing disgusting and I can't handle watching them. And also because I don't like Carter at all I have never watched scenes with just him and Lucas fully because he is so weird and bleh.
Lucas needs help but not from these two people but from his best mate Dillon. I hope Dillon can help him. I wouldn't be surprised if Dillon ends up saving Lucas from Carter and Declan. So many teens do hurt themselves because they are scared and afraid to be themselves or are told it's wrong. And I wish it wasn't like that everyone should be able to be themselves no matter who they are. Good song at the end though.
Also when are people going to stop blaming Ste’s sexuality for his actions that don’t have anything to do with his sexuality? He’s a bad dad. He’s had his good moments but they always came too late after damage had been done If he was a better person he could be a better father and not have to save his kids from their last threads but rather prevent it all from happening to start with And it’s time someone said the truth
You know how HO loves to drag on storylines (just like how they dragged the Greda McQueen murderous spree for months). This one, however, needs to be done by Friday tomorrow
Since its Hollyoaks/a soap/a really serious matter that has to be handled propperly, I have a feeling it could take untill summer or most of the year to get finished with this storyline/the aftermath of it, because there will be weeks focusing on other storylines too.
The way Lucas shared his true feelings for Dillon all along! I’m just shattered for him. He doesn’t deserve this. it makes me legit mad when people say they ship JP and Carter now. Cause seriously how could you want JP with someone like this? Who would prey on an innocent kid. The first time Lucas is brave enough to share his true feelings and they immediately shame him. That’s so damaging. 😢 which is definitely why him hurting himself makes so much sense. 😖
@@767wattsyit really was. Brutal to watch. I think this storyline is important tho. And showing that part really brings home how damaging it can be for someone vulnerable like Lucas.
I have always skipped Lucas and carter scenes because I thought they were a bore at first but now I skip them because they are absolutely degusting, and I just get filled in by the comments because I refuse to watch them.
I hate that Carter and Declan are blaming some serious bad stuff that has happened in Lucas family on homosexuality, in an attempt to make Lucas recent his dad or others/ just using whatever they can to make him want to "better himself" and feel that he is not gonna want to be like "Them" aka Ste and James and Scott(bringing up his past suicide attempt etc last time)etc. I have a feeling Lucas might isolate himself and/or lash out in an argument/conversation and say something about homosexuality and then either Dillon, Scott, Ste or James will ask, where he got those views from or ste might blame himself for not being a better role model and Carter might say, that Lucas is just a troubled teen and once again offer his help, but keep it hidden, what him and Declan are doing/what his talks with Lucas are really about(aka making everything worse), until someone figures it out/walks in on him saying/doing something that will be to his disadvantage or Lucas might eventually say something.
As sick as this sounds what would be the chances of Carter and Declan pushing Lucas into sleeping with Frankie. And if Frankie gets traumatized then Lucas will get blamed and probably hurt himself more. Carter and Declan they way they act it's so creepy and really makes me think of Child molester vibes. I know that's way to far from it but it's hollyoaks how far are they going to push it.
Carter is a disgusting, vile, stalkerish, manipulative, and cruel man. I hope that at the end of this storyline, he is arrested and never goes near children again. And I also hope that John Paul never gets close to children again. This storyline is so sad and revolting. I think everyone is failing Lucas. I know a lot of people want Dillon to save Lucas, but I want it to be James. It would even be a way of trying to fix the bizarre abuse storyline they've done with him and Lucas. And James went through something similar.
I hope this story line is planned to go in the right direction.... these guys have NO business going behind the parents back in attempting to "pray the gay" away! There is much MUCH more emotional damage going on here. This is very difficult to watch with out screaming!
So does anyone else think that this Lucas storyline is weird. Like of all the characters to pick for a conversion storyline why pick the one with a gay dad? Seems like he would be the one most comfortable in his sexualitÿ
Now when Lucas finds out his dad killed Ella, he's going to hate him more than ever, because they're already sowing the seed for him to hate him and blame that accident on his sexuality as well.
We all knew it was going to get dark for Lucas before it got better, BUT good heavens, this is hard to watch 😪. Carter represents men who have so much hate for LGTBQ + individuals because of their own shame and unresolved issues. Let's all stay strong better days will come 🤍
Carter and Declain are trying to hurt Lucas, they let him to do gay conversion therapy on the show, he talks to them about Dillon, Ste and James are both here on the show including John Paul!! 😮
I am upset by this whole situation! James and Ste are wrapped up in keeping the secret about what they THINK happened to Ella. And they only seem to have sympathy and patience for Leah. Carter is a hypocrite, 'harboring' his own feelings for John Paul. Speaking of JP, he KNOWS what Carter is capable of and has done nothing to stop it completely. He's really dropped the ball there. And now, with Lucas Self Harming, this story is taking another turn. The only other adult who has a clue is Scott. Hopefully, he will be able to get through to Lucas. With the help of Dillon. 😢
It’s been so disappointing how all the adults in Lucas’s life have really let him down. Nancy was suspicious but Carter easily quieted her by just offering her a promotion. JP is in some kind of lala land where he thinks Carter wouldn’t do exactly what he tried to do to him to a kid. Even after all the horrible things Carter has said to him. Ste is just an absolute mess. It hard cause as a long time viewer of this show it’s hard not to have a soft spot for him but he really is a bad dad. He tries I’ll give him that. But he just makes AWFUL decisions and his drugs and alcohol problems just make it ten times worse. The kids are more like parents with him. I can see how he would want that picture perfect life with James but leave it to Ste to let it crash and burn. Literally!! But I think the people I’m most disappointed ironically is Leah & James. Leah is his older sister and when she woke up in nightmares it was Lucas who held and comforted her. But it seems she just likes being the “favorite kid” and could care less about Lucas. And man James - after everything he did to Lucas with the cabin and beating him. It was Lucas who forgave him - who helped him plan to get his Dad back. Who put aside his fears to help his Dad be happy again. And literally within a day or two James was right back to accusing Lucas of being the worst. None of them have truly sat down with Lucas to see why he is acting out. It’s just a true and real view as to how people like Carter get in and take advantage. I feel so bad for Lucas because the only one person which is Dillon who cares and is trying so hard to help he is now being made to feel is bad for him. Is sinful. It’s just brutal to watch the abuse and mental damage they are causing.
@@sishanavarro2813 okay I didn't remember what he must have done to keep her off track so to speak, since she didn't go further with it, so thanks for reminding me.
@@petermukasa3093 Realistic? Not at all. No parent would allow a teacher to be this overreaching. They are at home having drinks. But, your son, who just in a prior scene admitted something was going on with him, is off with his school admin NOT even his teacher but the head of the school. And, you don't ask questions? So, no, its not realistic . . . not even for television's willing suspension of disbelief. Just moronic.
@@ninoj3774 The conversation for me wasn't about if conversion therapy happens in real life or still allowed. My point was that this storyline is dangerous. Why? Using conversion therapy as the vehicle to sell this silly storyline to its audience isn't original or fresh terrain in the storytelling about gay youth. The portrayal of gay people on Hollyoaks as borderline p*dos (Carter), careless substance abusers or emotionally unavailable unstable parents (Ste/James) for this storyline is damaging to the LGBTQ community as there is very little representation to begin with. There could (SHOULD) have been a more creative way of creating 'drama' for Lucas' and Dillon's love story. Conversion Therapy in the US and UK (which is in the process of being banned in the UK) is NOT being used in profound numbers. And, even globally, conversion therapy is NOT the biggest threat to a young person coming out. It is a standard trope that writers use for gay youth in so many tv/film. This isn't the early 2000's. It is 2024. And, as it is, there isn't a lot of positive gay role models portrayed in tv/film. And, this soap has a budget with incredible talent. Why waste it or dumb it down to us as the audience. WE deserve better storytelling. Apologies for the long response. At the end of the day, I am just disappointed that this is route that they are going.
