David Glaum If you mean the glow at 1:15, 2:40, 6:35, and 7:41 that is most definitely the hot side of the turbos. That's why those guys are winning, they have that heat driving the 'chargers right off the bat. That and the fact that they have their weight transfer just right, the front wheels hardly make contact with the ground.

Trucks pulling a 'sled'. The distance from when the front wheel goes up to when it goes down is measured. At least that is what I can make out. Maybe someone with better understanding will come along and explain.

They measuring distance of how far they can pull under load...if you look at the sled if moves forward which increases load...its a competition of how far they can pull

The puller all pull a" sled" which has changable weight an gearing. The test puller basically verifies the combination of weight an gearing is right for the class. Once sled is SET the pull then begins, but the first or "test" puller can keep the first run or try over. ( this case he tried again at the end ). The weight box of the sled moves forward an the weight goes from riding on the semi axles in back to the pan on the front. When weight is all the way forward maximum drag is created. The one with the best BALANCE AN TRACTION WILL WIN. Power doesn't necessarily rule the roost. Getting the TRACTION figured out is key.
