How smooth he looks when skating/stick checking other players he reminds me so much of how Datsyuk used to play its unreal. He looks so fluent with all of his motions, never looks out of place, everything looks timed and calculated. He may never live up to the point/defensive expectation totals of a Pavel Datsyuk, but he looks like a bonafide top 6 player with good two way play and the ability to put up 70-80+points a season
Was really surprised to see Raymond make the lineup to start the season and had no expectation for him to stick on the top line all season. What a nice surprise. Thanks for spoiling us with the comprehensive highlights awood.
@@timliddy1 you do realize that the wings had Sieder and Raymond as finalist...add to that Nedeljkovic was third last year. This is a good young core we are talking about.
Yep. He plays a 200 foot game already and doesn’t seem to get rattled when pressured with the puck. Nothing flashy yet, but no glaring weaknesses in his game either which is fantastic for a 19 year old.
@@TheVlad1616 One of his biggest traits pre draft was his poise in tight spots, and when being pressured. Definitely has translated so far to the NHL. He has a really interesting potential imo.
Honestly they need to change the Calder rules. It’s more interesting to know which young rookie is considered the best than some 24 year old who played with men for years Maybe there can be two trophies
Could not mention his name without saying "leads all rookies" for like 80-90% of the season. Somehow not a Calder finalist. Will never understand what the NHL has against the Wings, but they aren't hiding it anymore.
@@mikebarber12 The NHL has had it against the Wings since at least 2004... The lockout in 2005 was heavily influenced because people were mad that the Red Wings were buying out anyone they wanted. It's like they hate consistent success
You know Raymond is going to be a star player when you score your first hat trick against probably a future Hall of Fame goalie in Marc Andre Fleury.. definitely had to be a boost of confidence to start the season for him!
Videos like this are a reminder for us to be patient, because the future is bright and we're building a team that is going to be very good for a very long time. #LGRW
This aged greatly. You guys are in for a crazy awakening. Should be a solid playoff caliber team for years to go in about 1-2 years. Hopefully this year starts it off.
Yep absolutely; Seider, Raymond, Edvinsson, Berggren, Kasper, Johansson, Cossa, and of course Bertuzzi, and Larkin. So many great draft picks that'll contribute to a future dynasty. Just a testament to how important guys like Håkan Andersson, and now Stevie Yzerman are to this organization. Great drafting and scouting is how we built the last empire, and it'll be how we build the next one.
He was a Calder finalist....he was fourth...the problem was Seider is the best rookie defenseman the league has EVER seen. Kind of tough when you are on the same team as that.
I think he will be a 75-90 range constistenlu after this upcoming season. Needs more time in league so he can make the game slower for him. 100 consistently is definitely in the window though, future bright as hell in Detroit.
He's at least gonna be a consistent 30+ goals, 50+ assists player, but his ceiling is a lot higher than that... wouldn't be surprised to see him put up 50 goals or 100 pts
he just need to figure out a program of training and eating and resting and all of that.. to be able to put out a consistent season, and with the red wings improving - so will he, and will be nudging 100 points in a couple of seasons. bingo bango.
