Amazing!! We just got back from our Italian trip, and Lucca was one of our favourite towns (the Cinque Terre ranked second). We did an E-Bike wine tour, rented a Vespa and travelled to Monte Carlo, and did a run on the wall (mind blown) every morning. The weather was amazing in early October, the food incredible (we have lists of our favourites). We loved the Amphitheater at night with its live music. We had the best Gelato at Le Crema Matta. My husband loved the fact that it was the only towns to evade the take over of the Roman Empire. Our hearts are in Italy - it’s amazing!! Enjoy every minute. Your fellow South Africans:)
I was in Lucca more than one time and is soooooooo beautiful, like all Tuscany, obviously. Enjoy the Lucca vibes guys!! In front of the ticket office for Puccini's house there's a cute ceramic store, really cute.
I assume that in part 2 you will be showing the amazing walk along the walls of Lucca?? It’s the BEST “city” walk ever!! I live in Viareggio, so going for a walk in Lucca is one of my favourite things to do🤗 Such a jewel of a city. Whenever my family visit from the States, it’s the first place l take them👍 This travelling thru Italy vlog is a great idea!! Where is your home?🤔BTW l sent the Viareggio video to all my family and friends🙏😀🙏
If this is your first experience with these two, I HIGHLY recommend following their playlist for their month(s) in Sicily. My sister and I literally followed in their culinary footsteps everywhere they went!
Hi guys, nice to see you back in action, we have been to Lucca twice and feels like a place to live, on other note, in Argentina, my native country, better say in Buenos Aires we also have Cecina but we call it Fainá, (maybe from the word farina?) and put a slice of it on top of the muzzarella pizza, it makes for a great combination and we usually drink beer with it or moscato, a big glass of moscato.
🍕If you're enjoying our content and would like to help fuel us on our adventure through Italy, you can buy us a small pizza! 😊🇮🇹 buymeacoffee.com/theglobalexpats
Yes, hot cross buns are in Australia too being the sister country to England. They start selling them in supermarkets the the day after Christmas day even though they're not official until Easter!
So fun that you guys are in Lucca! We will be there this upcoming May! We are planning to climb the Guinigi Tower. Always love your vlogs…so much fun! ❤
Thanks ... use the public fountains instead of more plastic bottles though. The water is fantastic and most cities still have them. I am going back to Lucca next week and wondered what I had missed the first time. Oh an siesta - Spanish. I am not sure what they call that long lunch break, perhaps pisolino. Your memories of where you have been are amazing.
This was fantastic, I've missed the two of you and all the Information Mattao always gives, you guys are so cute together ❤️ Hot cross buns are only available in Canada at Easter, not sure why. That pizza looked absolutely delicious, thanks guys so fun. Can't wait till the next one 😊❤❤❤❤
There’s actually 5 climbable towers in Lucca. Those you mentioned (around 33:40 in the video), plus San Frediano’s campanelle. My wife and I recently climbed all 5 in one day (we live here).
This is the first of your videos for me splashed down by RU-vid. Absolutely delightful. Very well done. Loved ringing the doorbell to get into a museum. But the whole composition of your work is outstanding. Thank you. Now following from HONOLULU Hawaii🇺🇸🇺🇸😎🏄🏼♂️🍍🏖️🌈🌸
Oh yeah, we do hot cross buns here in Australia...I visited Lucca this year and climbed the Guinigi Tower and the Torre delle Ore. I wish I'd had more time but I was only there for the day. It's definitely a city I'd love to spend more time exploring.
That’s awesome! 🥰 We climbed those 2 towers the following day & loved the views at the top! 😍 Lucca really is such a charming city, hopefully you’ll get the chance to visit it again! 🇮🇹❤️ We just spent 3 weeks there, using it as our base and doing day trips to the surrounding cities & we were still sad to be leaving it, even after the good amount of time we spent there! 😅
If you're ever back in Lucca, Palazzo Pfanner is a lovely place and the Torre Guinigi is a unique bell tower which is fun to go up. Trattoria da Nonna Clara is also a good place for food!
Looking forward to watching this one guys , my nephew has just returned from Lucca , his friend lives there, regards Fred from bonnie Scotland 🇮🇹✌️🏴
The chickpea slice, in Argentina we call it fainá, and we eat it together with the slice of pizza. We also have a faina with cheese, onions, etc. filling 🤤
It was very nice the woman at the pizzeria, she wanted you to taste the hot pizza and offered it (rightly). Maybe it was a good day or maybe it's just their way of working, for sure if all shop owners did this (in Italy and not only), everything would be better.
Everything looks so good!! Thankful for your Florence recommendations! I’m going to Lucca in a few weeks and was wondering anyone has any other awesome suggestions? Also if anyone has any recommendations for other spots pls lmk!! (Also going to be in Florence/ Livorno/viareggio/ Lucca/ Venice/ Rome/ Messina / Malta /mykonos/ Santorini/athens)
Hey guys, are there any hotels in the center of Lucca, that has elevators? We’re considering visiting Lucca this year, and it would be nice to know if there are some places that are handicap friendly. 😊🌼🌼🌼
Thank god you guys have never made it to Pietrasanta, the jewel of Versilia. As they say when the tourists move in the Artists move out. Please stick to the regular Tuscan Italy vlogs, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano.. you know the drill..
