I agree with you 100%. And I do believe song and music to be the purest form of entertainment we have developed. I have an argument that ‘clowning’ comes a close second. (I mean clowning in a non verbal chat at of expressing a feeling or emotion). Something universal that does not require language, that a human of any age can understand and learn form. It’s a thing that requires human ext to comprehend and often teaches something. I’d argue that through how Pavarotti does what he does, he crosses the barrier between singing and clowning and actually does something that transcends the both. No competition intended, I just think that there are some things that are so special, they are hard to define.
You are so right, the first time I actually listened to opera, always a rock fan,,until I listened to This great voice, I was hooked, still listening, year,2023, after 20 plus years! ❤
@@loisjohnson7272 Same here, Beatle fan until I heard pavarotti in person. Will never forget. Have never stop hearing him after. Have all his cds.😍🤩😝🤪😍
In around 1993 Pavarotti came to Japan. My uncle and I went to listen to his performance. His voice was powerful beyond our human comprehension. My uncle and I talked about how he sang "like a stereo". This my favorite uncle is with the Lord and with Mother Mary. He lives in my heart and in every beautiful music note. Forever.
I try to follow him Perfectly with fulllllly efforts....I like his Voice very much Bcoz he sings each song Smoothly without more Efforts with Simplicity but with EFFECTIVENESS.........a Great Italian Tenor.. ..........Love from India
sanjeev arthurr yes he is amazing! And in fact one could make an argument that technically he’s a better singer but when you add Pavarotti the man that lived the life but he embodies as a person. And the song nessun Dorma if God has a voice this is it! I would put Bocelli as number two of the best singers ever ❤️🎉💯
He is considered one of the most important tenors of all time. Some have said he was the tenor of the century, a voice that only comes around once every 100 years. However, there is also Enrico Caruso. He is considered the most famous tenor at the beginning of the 20th century and one of the most important singers in the world of opera.
His facial expressions lend so much to the performance. His voice is incredible of course, but that combination, along with his overall presence is amazing. I just wish I had the privilege of seeing him live.
I just lost my Mom Tuesday, she was one of his biggest fans as well as Opera in general. I played Nessun Dorma, Ava Maria, Carmen and many of her favorite Arias during the last hours of her life. The smile on her face was so beautiful. I'm sitting in her apartment playing those same songs waiting on my siblings to arrive. We are so grateful to her and our Dad for sharing their love and passion for Opera.

I am not even familiar with opera, but the voice of Luciano Pavarotti transcends mere opera and is its own legend. What a gift this man had, no singer can match him. I can listen to Luciano all day.
@@donnanegri3186 I have not seen Andre Bocelli. The reason I saw a lot of opera is because I worked for an opera company for 5 years in the mid 90's. This includes the Pavarotti concert.
My dad sang it. He also sang Minuit Chretien. French English or Latin. We made sure he had a good setlist when we bid him farewell to the afterlife. Sung by the choir he lead. I bet you nobody ever heard anything like it, and never will again.
Upon my Mother nearing her recent earthly death, we played this for her twice before her passing. I believe that it helped her let go and begin her journey to heaven.
When I was twelve years old, my mother insisted that I learned to play this piece of music. I hadn't heard it before and I wasn't particularly interested, but I did learn to play it. Now, over 30 years later, I hear this piece sung by Pavarotti and I fully understand why my mother wanted me to play it. When I listen to this now, my eyes fill up, both because of Pavarotti's wonderful performance and because of remembering my late mother.
Your statement kinda reminded me of a line from the movie gladiator, but that led me to think about the missed opportunity for a block buster movie about pavorotti they did one with elton john, and so many others but finding an actor with this type of presence could be difficult
@@charliem6467 really? But he appeared on so many random duets he even did one with the spice girls are you suggesting he couldn't sing like that at all?
Exactly why im listening to this to pray for everyone in the world i live in nyc and i myself may be infected with the virus im 16 years old and ive been sick for 4 days today i feel a lot better still a possibility i may be infected but my prayers go out to everyone

@@Sahar_Peters they sing without mics in opera houses, if they're singing with mics it's either to record them or they're not in a theatre built acoustically carry the sound (or they're outdoors)
I saw Pavoratti in Rome in the early 80's when I was 12. Talk about getting an ignorant American pre-teen some serious culture! It changed me FOREVER. I can still picture the sun setting as Pavoratti sang Ave Marie.
Never seen him live.... but my dad once said "your funky music is uncultured, let me show you something" he introduced me to Pavarotti, 7 years later and we go fishing together with Opera music 😅

I used to sing this song at weddings 😻 year's ago when I was young a teeager until my early twenties them I got tired of practicing and so I quit singing I have not sang in twenty years it's the past.
Muslims view Virgin Mary or Maryam in Quran/Arabic as one of the most righteous women to have lived on earth. However, they don't pray to her or take her as intercession when praying to God/Allah. Quran, Al Maidah 5:116.

My dear father just passed a few weeks ago and the vocalist sang Ave Maria during his funeral. It was beautiful and now when I hear it I think of my father.
I'll just judge the music. He was a mastermind because of hard work and exercise. I am just a simple punk. But when I hear Pavarotti's AVE Maria I'll cry like a little baby. And that is what I'm thankful for.
APPARENTLY, THEY'RE NOT IN THEIR RIGHT MIND. THAT'S WHY THEY'RE DISLIKING THIS. THEIR IDEA OF A SINGER IS PROBABLY SOMEBODY LIKE " EMINEM." 🙉 🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣
I'm not Catholic or Italian, but Pavarotti's (and only Pavarotti's) Ava Maria always makes me cry! Just the sheer beauty and feeling, like no one else!!
The piece was written by an Austrian composer and has German language lyrics in its original form. But the whole world can sing it in whatever language it wants. Because it’s not the language, it’s the musical soul that counts!!! I think Schubert, an Austrian, would also see it that way.
Pavarotti was so big in the 90's that, in my backwater country (Nicaragua), in the aftermath of a turbulent decade, there were like 4 channels and one of them played this video every noon, either for the sheer beauty or the religious symbolism, I don't know. But every last person with a black & white TV and an antenna knew this man and this performance.
I lost my mother the day after Christmas 2020. Just 5 months after I lost my father. She loved this song and cried every time she heard it. I only know that my for LOVE for them is what I have left and I thank God for that love. LOVE is all that matters.
I was in the Melbourne town hall nearly 50 years ago. I’d taken my mum to hear Ivan Rebroff a German Opera singer who sang popular Russian songs & excepts from Operas. He was un miked and the town hall was an enormous drafty building back then. At one stage, he walked down the centre aisle while singing The Volga Boatman’s Song. He happened to stop right beside mum & I as he finished the final chorus of this magnificent old song. My god!!! Now I know why Opera singers always sing side by side and not front on, into each other’s faces. His un microphoned voice had absolute deafening power. The other time I experienced the “full surround sound” of an acoustic human’s voice was in London at my first Opera. A “young man from Italy” called Luciano had came over to debut his talents. MY GOD!! I will never forget that night either. These men have other worldly qualities about them. It made me wonder about the size of their diaphragm & if their vocal cords were different to the rest of us mere mortals?
Many have sung this song, but Luciano is the best. The emotion he puts into it is there in his voice, and written on his face, he is singing to Mary . Hearing it again now gives me goosebumps! Truly Amazing.
My first intro to this man was on the program Sunday morning with Charles Corault. Some 30 yrs ago. I never heard opera and was stunned when I heard such a beautiful voice. Was hooked ever since. Povorit died a few short years later but I never forgot the voice and the heart of man who love to sing. What an honor to here him sing.
The man that introduced me to classical and opera. An absolutely amazing person and singer. Still gives me shivers. Wish god could have left him on earth a little longer. Thank you Sir for this masterpiece ❤
