A great Masterpiece to react to. Little fact about this performance. For this Masterpiece that is under 4 minutes long, the Great Luciano received a 20 minute standing ovation!!! As well as that. Although Luciano has passed from this mortal realm & gone to Heaven, he is not there resting. God hired him to teach the Celestial choir to better sing with such majesty & beauty. It's true.

This is the most famous, unfinished, opera and the song belongs to Pavarotti! There never will be another like him. His transition from note to note, octave to octave, is like silk. Thank you for respecting the artist and not interrupting a beautiful song.

Indeed, "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's opera "Turandot" is a masterpiece, and Luciano Pavarotti's rendition is legendary. His unparalleled talent and ability to convey emotion through his voice are truly remarkable. It's a privilege to listen to such a beautiful performance without interruption. Pavarotti's legacy as one of the greatest tenors of all time will always be remembered and cherished. Grazie mille for sharing your appreciation! 🎶👏

A credit to this performance is the audience, who paid huge sums of money to see and hear "The Three Tenors", arguably the three greatest tenors EVER, but probable the three greatest alive at that time. All audience members were huge opera fans. and at the end of this aria, they ALL stood as one with tears in their eyes and gave the Maestro a fitting standing ovation that lasted for some time. One of the greatest performances ever recorded.

Thank you for my favorite opera singer. A little hint for the pronunciation (which for Americans is not easy) - Lu-chee-ah-no Pah-vah-row-tee -- Neh-suhn-door-mah - Tour-ahn-dot (as per Italians) or Tour-ahn-dough. He passed away Sept. 2007. When he spoke English he had a very heavy accent. He attended Princess Diana's funeral. To me, Pavarotti sang w-the most passion & emotion than any other male opera singer & that’s why i think he was the best. Btw, there is no better feeling than getting "dressed up" & splashing on that cologne to go out.

You did very well with your pronunciation. Yes, this is Opera. This an Aria that was his signature song. Opera is like Musicals. The biggest difference is that there is no dialog in Opera. It is sung all the way thru. Pavarotti was a Master of his instrument. To see him perform in actual Opera performances just pull up Luciano Pavorotti, and you will see different selections. When he is in tails and white bow tie, he is giving a concert.

Please react to the song "Caruso" sung by Luciano Pavarotti. The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life. Fun Fact: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means ragazzo in italian and boy in english.

by now, you have probably watched the complete opera "Turandot", possibly the version featuring Luciano Pavarotti, which he performed many times. At this concert, he is not just singing the song, he is "acting" the part, so at the end, when he sings "I will win, I will win, I will win", his facial expressions are part of the act. If you are interested in opera, try the lighter, more comical ones first. The Barber of Seville (Rossini), The Marriage of Figaro {Mozart) for example. I watch operas right here on "RU-vid" and there are many with "English subtitles" so you know WHAT it's about. But there is NOTHING like seeing a live performance, I hope you get to do that someday. (There is a screen above the stage with English subtitles). Enjoy !!!

Yes, opera is a genre of music. But Pavarotti also sang Italian bel canto, which is also lyrical. And I would suggest that you invest in seeing an opera. Choose one of the most famous ones, because they are the best ones. And yes, opera is still big. I've never seen a really high-level production like the Metropolitan or any of the equivalents in Europe. But even the several operas I've seen in Finland... I once went to see Nabucco by Verdi and the slave choir entered through the audience hall and walked to stage singing the intro (Cosi' ha detto il Signore) and my shirt was just wet with the tears that I could not stop from flowing, because the music was just so powerful. However, as novices by advice to you is this: Pay less attention to your own attire as in let that not be a barrier to you going to see opera. Focus more on getting the English translation of the Libretto (the little book with the lyrics and the story of the opera you are going to see) and read it beforehand. This will allow you to understand the storyline. And then just enjoy the experience.

Does this still happen: check out Andrea Bocelli. There is this story, I don't know if it's true: a record company wanted to perform a song, they had Bocelli, who was then a studio performer, make a demo and sent it to Pavarotti. He sent it back with a letter, "You don't need me, you have him!" So Bocelli got his breakout performance, and he is very popular and nearly but not quite as good as Pavarotti. Check out O Sole Mio! with Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and I always forget the third guy but he is famous too.

In this performance you have not only the best opera singer ever, but you also had the most prestigious conductor in the world, Zubin Mehta, and you have the largest choir and the absolutely largest orchestra, every one of them a virtuoso. There are two video screens above the orchestra, they are not for the audience, they are for the orchestra to be able to follow the instructions of the conductor. I have never seen such a large orchestra. But would you believe that this is not my favorite performance? There are many, many, many videos of Pavarotti performing this aria (song from an opera) over many years. And some are even better than this one. And there are many more videos of Pavarotti performing other arias and popular songs with popular artists. "Pavarotti and Friends" benefit concerts. With James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Tracy Chapman, Bono, Zucchero, and many others.

Luciano was the best but there are some other great opera singers out there. Do go to a concert and dress up and experience it. It will be something you will always look back on and say that was a great night. A full opera can be heavy and i have only been to one La Traviata. Particually if you dont know the story it can be hard to follow. But a concert with maybe 3-4 singers doing excepts like this is wonderful and you won't be disapointed.
