Chrissy, I couldn't have said it better. You are exactly right. We are lucky, indeed, to have had Pavarotti in our lifetimes. His voice was simply perfection.
The Heavenly Choir sings sweeter today. In manus tuas, misericors Salvator, servum tuum Luciano commendamus. Requiescat in pace, Luciano. Amen.
When I hear his voice, I feel love and tranquility in the deepest sense. Now I feel bittersweet sorrow for the loss of the greatest tenor of the world, Luciano Pavarotti. Rest in peace. :'(
The sound quality is not accurate enough on this RU-vid video, but as a study in acting-expression in singing, this is a terrific piece. Glad to have seen it.
Each time I find a new recording of Pavarotti I am amazed by how much work goes into his vocalises. The perfect mix of natural talent and technique has generated some of the most beautiful and emotive recordings ever created. I am very sad that I shall never meet this man.
he could sing anything, what a wonderful voice, what a wonderful song, so sad, so beautiful, so amazing, it completely brings to life the meaning of being alive, the feeling that truly makes any human being feel alive.....
Luciano shows his love for this masterpiece by Tosti by a a very beautiful performance. When I first heard him sing this I was overwhelmed. I spent an entire night listening to it. I still am enthralled at the way that he makes it entirely his own.
Ive watched this video often for years. Everytime I get a good amount of wine in me, I sing along. When I first saw this, it was 3 years old. Hug you loved ones, friends, time passes so quickly. Already it has been 11 years. Porco dio but it goes quickly.
Perfecto! Molto Bene! Perfect technique, perfect interpretation, perfect sensitivity to the music, perfect concentration and more. What more could you ask?
Much love to luciano , he is and will ever be the best singer that ever walked this planet of ours. R.I.P LUCIANO PAVAROTTI (WE SHALL MEET IN HEAVEN MY DEAR FRIEND)
Cosa q no hacía pavarotti.
Superb, and also my thanks go to Luis F Rodriguez for uploading a video with subtitles. I speak good Italian but it is always nice to have a translation there too. Luciano Pavarotti sings this beautifully and with so much feeling. How I wish I had made the effort to hear him live. In all his interviews, Pavarotti's warm personality would come through, as well as a reverence for the great tenors who had come before him, a natural kindness, intelligence and good sense of humour, as well as a self-effacing aspect to his character. He is still delighting millions of people eleven years after his death at the age of 71.
well said, bravo! A heart as big as his voice....and, what a voice! unique and perfect from the bottom to the very top of the Tenor range, perfectly centred, and effortlessly produced.
I was so close to seeing him live in Calgary. But, when we got there, we found out he cancelled. Now, I'll never get to see him live and in the flesh. I guess that he will always have to remain a unicorn; a mythical and wonderous creature that I will never see in my lifetime.
the maestro lives on! so long as men can hear his voice, the voice God sent to comfort His children who are suffering in this cold and cruel world today, the maestro never dies. o death, where is your sting? ah, hades. you can never brag of having the maestro in your shadows. long live Luciano!
This is not from an opera. Tosti was an Italian composer. No one sings his songs like The Great Man. :-) Another of Tosti's songs, Marechiare, sung by Luciano, is here on RU-vid. It's fantastic too. He always sang it towards the end of a recital and audiences went wild.
Hes the boss, the king, the master. A constant source of inspiration. Even now that he is in the great beyond. check out my humble recording of this piece. I love comments.
I agree, Bocelli is a media-created curiosity. I never understood people who would listen to pop singers attempt to sing the opera, in lieu of just going to the source and listening to an authentic opera singer.
