Held on 4 February 2023, this study day offered an opportunity to hear from curators, thinkers and practitioners as they shared new research on the work of Lucie Rie (1902-1995).
Lucie Rie: The Adventure of Pottery was organised by MIMA, part of Teesside University and Kettle’s Yard, University of Cambridge in association with The Holburne Museum, Bath. Exhibition supported by the AKO Foundation.
Dr Kimberley Chandler is an independent writer, researcher and editor specialising in craft history and theory, materiality, and making practices. She regularly writes about contemporary craft and design and is a Daphne Jackson Fellow in the School of Arts and Creative Industries at London South Bank University, in partnership with National Life Stories at the British Library, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
