I have heard that this was in fact the first duet that Lucy and Martha recorded together. Very brave because it is not the easiest thing to sing and as you said Martha was very young.
Lucie, I would say you were shocked at the little ornamentation peak in Martha's voice at the end of her first line. You gasped and were speechless for a bit. That little jump up and down did the same to me. Although both voices are so smoooth, that little ornamentation got me. Martha's voice is so light and dainty it makes it literally jump out. There's nothing like sibling harmony. Plus I heard several "WOW!"s. 😂 MORE: Their voices are so excellent together that although being light it is truly emotional. Who knew something so dainty, light, and smooth could pull at your heartstrings.
A long time ago, RU-vid proposed to me this video. I first , i thought it was two children making some karaoke. It took me few day to open and view....and then, i felt into the rabbit hole....and found Lucy's musical wonderland.♥️👍
What a lovely melody - I didn't know this song - and what a soulful rendition by these remarkable children. Martha, so young here, is already singing the lower part. There seems to be no limit to what these sisters can do - imagine when they are both in their twenties.
Yes, these duets are really awesome. I cannot say which duet I like most because they are all so good. Peoples voices can blend together well, but Lucy and Martha are taking blending to another level. It sounds so natural. And in this song neither of them did have to go to their vocal limits so no vocal stress at all.
If I remember correctly, this was the second duet Lucy did with Martha. She's so young here but their voices blend beautifully. Then and now. React to their first duet together- Angel. You'll love their harmonies in that one too. Great reaction!
This video "Say Something" was their first I believe. At least, it was released about 5 months before they did "Angel". And Martha does look younger here.

Martha was 10 years 3 months old in this video - already showing the promise that Lucy showed at the same age. In my opinion, singing the harmony is more difficult than melody and Martha crushed it. Martha's first time recording with Lucy I believe. Big sis showing little sis the ropes and how it is all put together 10 and 16 i think. You see Martha glancing around occasionally but locked in on Lucy for her timing and cues..

These sisters are so beautiful together. They ALWAYS bring tears to my eyes. Lucy is one of the best female vocalist that I have ever heard. She is right there with Celine and Whitney and I think Martha will keep getting better as she matures. I can not wait to follow their journey.

Please note that little Martha is still in pigtails here! Martha has all the same talents as her big sister - she is just 5 and a half year behind in physical and practical development. What find most charming is how EARNEST Martha is, she is putting her entire being into it! Also, her harmony lines are much more complicated that Lucy's basic melody, but she just aces them - only to be expected, with a big sister like Lucy to coach and guide her...

This is one of my absolute favorites from Lucy and Martha! The harmonies are perfection and eerily good. There is one person in the comments who has many times said he believes Lucy overpowers Martha here. I couldn't disagree more. Martha provides the perfect balance to Lucy and as good as Lucy is, this song wouldn't be nearly as good if sung without Martha. I can't remember if you have already reacted to their duet of "In the Arms of an Angel", I will have to go check, but their harmonies in that are even better than this somehow, in my opinion.
