Lucille Ball was one of the hardest working actresses in Hollywood. Watching her in Stage Door underlines that fact. When you see her up against comedy pros like Eve Arden and Ginger Rogers you realize that poor Lucy was over-matched. Flash forward a few years and see her in Without Love (also starring Hepburn) and you see how shes honing her craft. She worked hard to become the Lucy Ricardo with the impeccable timing and comedy instincts.

Damn, I was thinking 'what the heck is he babbling on about?' Then, Lucy showsup in the audience watching Katherine Hepburn at the end and it all falls into place and makes sense. Well done!

Orson Welles wanted to cast Lucille Ball in what would have been his first movie, The Lady With the Knife, but the studio refused to consider the idea. After Carol Lombard refused to do it, Welles gave up and started work on what would become Citizen Kane. So, there's another connection....

I actually have a six degrees of separation with Lucy, her grandma was in a nursing home in the town I live in and she would visit her. My parents also happen to be friends with the daughter of the person that ran the nursing home at the time

This threads like one of my rants.

You mention A Streetcar Named Desire in your video and of course you mention Marlon Brando but you don't mention the two actresses Vivien Leigh who receive her second Academy Award for Best Actress and Kim Hunter who won her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Marlon Brando was the only cast member who did NOT receive and Academy Award that year. Karl Malden received his Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

La La Land is terrible. The actors can't dance, they can't sing. And when you juxtapose them against real performers like Astaire and Charisse, as you did in the video, it's jarring just how bad the actors in LLL really are.
