I really love this concert i was introduced to it by my uncle chris dlamini who was the band member and performed with slave and lucky dube on this show. When we watch it he just get into tears remembering the good old days
There is no difference between Lucky Dube live performances and his recording. In fact, his live performances are just better than a studio recording. This guy was a legend a gift from God above, just killed by his own people. He was a peaceful human being.
My brother we share the same vision. Lucky Dube was not just a singer. He was both a soldier and a prophet. He had the message, he had a weapon (The Truth). He was a messenger of peace. W was killed for absolutely nothing. I LOVE LUCKY DUBE MAXIMALLY..... HE WAS AN ANGEL FROM GOD.
My father was not a great father but he gave me the greatest gift of all, he introduced me to this Timeless music, he gave me Reggae music. I came across this today and it has brought me memories from wayyy back in time. I remember my Father playing Jambo(Sipho Johnson, R.I.P), Senzo (Senzo Mthetwa) Lucky Dube (R.I.P) and the Mighty Slaves, Colbert Makwevho, Alpha Blond, Ijahman Levi, Don Carlos, Peter Tosh (R.I.P), Bob Marley (R.I.P), Bunny Wailer(R.I.P),Joseph Hill (R.I.P)- (Culture), Burning Spear, Mighty Diamonds, UB40... I have grown to love this music. Thank you Lucky Dube for the beautiful music, rest in Jah.. your music lives on. Thank you all. One Love.❤

Your unique sweet and melodious voice, physical agility, smooth and gliding symphonic combination of sounds makes you a second to none in the arena of reggae music. Lucky Philip Dube, may your soul rest in perfect peace, you'll always continue to live with us in spirit. JAH bless!!!
I thank you for loading this, i think this was the time in SA when we had reggae musician, now they have all vanishhed, even our radios are not even making an attempt to play reggae let alone south african Miss those days of OYABA JUMBO, Siste Phumi Maduna, Reggae strong for peace band!
Reggae is strong for peace..... we born in this world to be together whitout racial discrimination and whitout south african xenophobia. Thank you so much Lucky dube, may your soul rest in peace.
....wish shows like this could come back in Mzanzi to restore the spirit of reggae once more for it is lalso where the music belongs too that is why we got our own flavour of the genre. Thanx Akuaba you remind me of the 80's.
Ahhhhhh! So good to be able to see this once again here. I used to have the VHS ( still do ) and would play this concert endlessly... The moves, The Dances, The Vibes... AFRICAN REGGAE is my favourite as it has extra dimensions & layers to that of Jamaican/British Reggae.... ALPHA BLONDY anyone !? or Tiken JAh FAkoley ? Respect!
From this come together festival, this show, this entertainment, this enthusiasm, one common band, true African reggae, WE SHOULD ACCEPT ALL THESE EFFORTS BY THESE GREAT SINGERS AS SIMPLY BEST
im ;proud to be a south african even though i was not yet born during these difficult times of this country but i feel the pain they felt lucky dube is the king of reggae
Not only being a sauth African but being an African if you listen to his message carefully he was not only singing about sauth Africa but the struggle of African Africans
It's here Lucky exhibited his writing skills. He was asked to compose the reggae strong for peace song which he quickly did and shared the various verses with his colleagues. What a clever guy.
