ChumpCar Pittsburgh Grand Prix, A. Searles driving Oct 8th, 2017 (day 2). Well, this went about as expected! Thanks to Isaac, driver of the Mustang, for checking those mirrors and racing clean! Great wheel-to-wheel fun.

looks like a lot of fun you guys had, nice clean racing. my friend and i have a DA integra that we're setting up for the same thing. looks like your setup had a lot of understeer as most fwd cars do without drastic setting up. if you don't already, a type r or aftermarket rear sway bar may help, or disconnecting the front one, spacers on the front etc etc

Hi! Thanks for the comment and suggestion. We cut, welded & flipped the rear OEM sway bar (free mod) to increase the leveraged torque. This gives us a looser rear end without getting hit with penalties for aftermarket performance parts. We have a pretty stiff set of springs all around, too, and can get the rear to slide by altering the tire pressures. Also have the Type-R LSD up front, so the front slides out because of wheel spin out of the corners sometimes! But on this day I remember playing it safe and running with a little understeer because it was a cool day and there was a chance of rain that afternoon. I like to brake very late (to our car's advantage) and with the elevations at Pitt things can get hairy in a hurry. I do like some oversteer at flatter courses like GingerMan though!
