In November 2021 my parents gifted me a top of the line Lucy Clay Machine, from Lucy Clay Tools, to help me better myself as a polymer clay artist. For the last month, we have been fighting them to replace a the broken board, as well as the bent, incorrect size leg for the machine. They’ve still yet to do so. I have pictures. I have emails. I am disgusted. I will spend the rest of my days sharing my experience with the polymer clay group. If you are wondering if it’s worth the money, it is NOT. Save your money & purchase something else. It’s not worth the headache. I’ll gladly update when there’s resolve to my issues. However they’re not responsive to IG messages, emails, or FB messages, so I am doing what I feel I need to do.

glad I found this today, almost purchased. What is your recommendation today for a conditioning machine?

Omg I’ve been making polymer clay jewelry for 4 years now. Mostly beads and pendants with semi precious stones! My thought process WAS just like yours. I’ll invest in the Lucy Clay machine once I’ve been doing it long enough that it becomes a business! Who doesn’t love perfect slice’s. Lol!! No lie I was buying mine in July! Now idk, I’m just not impressed anymore! The story behind the machine was she went to her Dad who’s an engineer and had him make this machine. Because she is a polymer clay artist her knowledge of the art medium we use to turn a profit is very clear! customer service at its worst! Dang girl I’m sorry that happened to you!

George is great. I bought a second hand slicer and it needed some repair he sent me what equated to a rebuild kit. He had me order one item so he could make shipping free. I had wanted a set of die’s for my czechstruder so I bought a 10 dollar item and got the stuff to rebuild my slicer. There is a bit of a language barrier but with a little patience it can be worked through. I did not go through email however, I “spoke” with him through messenger. I’m sorry you’ve had such a hard time. I’ve got the extruder the mini slicer and the large slicer and haven’t had a moments trouble. I am pretty sure shipping prices would be a complete nightmare to send it assembled and to keep it all aligned, but it for sure sounds like their quality control needs a bit of work. I have never bothered saving it for the clay machine because I gave myself a gnarley case of tennis elbow cranking my pasta machine so I have to use a motorized machine or it comes back. Using a drill for my extruder is great but using it for the clay machine seems like an awkward situation. I hope you’ve had some luck getting things resolved.

OMG I am so glad I seen your video cause I was going to buy this . I always shied away because the price but I thought if I can put a whole bar of clay to conticion all the way down would be great. I knew this had to be too good to be true so I started researching and found your video. I hope you get your money back cause they are exstreamly expensive.

Yikes! What a disaster. So sorry you had to deal with this. Thank you for posting. I see this was a couple of years ago, how did things turn out?
@Creative_Shopowner
I am looking at Eds right now and thinking I will go with it. I am surprised polymer clay doesn't have better machines on the market but at least Ed's blades can be removed so you can clean the machine. It doesn't have to be over complicated either. So sad to see machines are in the $600 to $1,000. I like clay but not that much. So Eds being $300 and below I can justify.

Wow, their 'customer service' is totally unacceptable! I have long thought about buying a Squirrel but I won't after hearing your story. So thank you for sparing me the time and energy that I could have been forced to give after spending my hard earned money on their machine! 🙏

Glad I saw this video. What an awful experience, but I'm glad your parents got the money back and that you found a great alternative (it's so pretty!). I just bought a Makin's non-stick machine with a motor for $100 on Amazon. I've been using an ancient Amaco original for the past 3 years and was teetering on buying an Atlas + motor then saw the Makin's. It's pretty nice but the motor is sooooo loud. LOL

I have a $10 pasta machine from a local grocery store (Kaufland), and now I have decided to upgrade to a $20 pasta machine from the other popular store (Lidl). Both pasta machines have a 3-year warranty moreover you can return them any time if they break.

Sheesh. And meanwhile poor Lucy still gets associated with the company, even though she hasn't been with them for a long time now. I'm glad you eventually got your money back. And yeah, Ed Street has a much better rep. Not to mention how pretty he makes the pasta machine look!

Did you ever get this issue resolved?

Do they have a face group page? Sometimes it’s it’s made super public on their page or website maybe they would be decent enough to either sort it or refund you. Really hope you get this issue sorted 🥰🥰

I really appreciate your review. I was thinking of getting one. I’ll just keep looking… when I first saw it I thought it was automatic too lol that was a disappointment but super glueing a part of the machine? Heck no. I have no time for a company that doesn’t just send a complete replacement. I think we all could design something that does a beautiful job and doesn’t break the bank. Making an affordable and a good product will make customers come back.

I ordered a slicer and the damn thing won’t cut all the way through. I have tried and tried to get help from them but I can’t even get a reply. Their stuff is crap 💩.
@radiestesista
This machine is so expensive... I will stick with my conventional pasta machine ..
