Lucy Rose performs 'Shiver' for The Crypt Sessions

What can we say about Lucy Rose? Still only 21 and with a voice to melt glaciers she is quickly gathering an army of admirers from Edith Bowman to the Mumford's. Having spent the last couple of years honing her songs live, Lucy came to the attention of Bombay Bicycle Club's Jack Steadman and was quickly drafted in to sing backing vocals on their second and third albums. Now having scored the support slot for Ben Howard's upcoming October tour, Lucy's debut single was released this month with the blogosphere fizzing with platitudes.
Lucy and guitarist Bjorn met the Crypt session crew in the Railway Tavern around the corner from the studio and joined us for a sly summer pint. Having charmed everyone with stories of Lucy's recent Glastonbury guest spot (again with the Bombay's) we set off to record. They then proceeded to deliver what we think was an amazing three song set, each song recorded in a single take. We were back down the pub within the hour! Its easy being this good isn't it? Enjoy.

I wonder what my life would be like if I'd been brave 30 years ago but thinking like that is pointless. What didn't happen but should have didn't and I'm grateful for what I do have now. But I do think about him nearly every day. I hope he's alright- I hope he's happy. Not so happy that he doesn't think about me now and again, though.

At least it's only one- he liked me that way, too, but I was so in awe of him I kind of froze. One part of me was saying 'he's wonderful- why would he want me? And if we did get together I'd probably ruin it somehow'. Ironically and very sadly, he started a relationship- possibly just to upset me- and she ended up f*cking up his life. The last time I saw him over 25 years ago he was a shell. He went from being the most charismatic, dynamic, charming and funny guy to barely being 'there'.

Same. If I remember correctly, it’s right at the end of an episode, where Lena Dunham’s character goes to her storage unit to spend the night after having nowhere else to go. Very poignant episode.

i was in a long distance relationship for a year. promises were made that we'd marry, had these wonderful plans of moving in together, traveling together, having kids, all these things. he ended things a few months ago and i literally thought my life was over, I was en emotional wreck for ever and honestly, still am. I've just learned to hide it better. he cut me out of his life, like nothing ever happened. like he didn't break those promises, like he didn't lie to me, and break my heart. I'm afraid that this feeling won't ever go away, for he was my first real love. I'm sorry for what happened to you and I hope that even one year later, you have healed even if it's just a little bit.

Love Lucy so so much! She is genuinely the most talented female singer songwriter I have come across in many years.
