Messed with my Dad's old Model 2 that has latches. Don't really get any accurate readings it jumps around. All I have to test with is an old tritium watch dial, old radium watch dial and radium gun sight.
What is the difderence between model 2 and model 3? I cant find information about that. Is the model 3 just upgraded version of 2 or is there something else? Great video btw!
Hi, and thanks! I think the Ludlum model 2 is older and came before the model 3. Another difference is that the model 2 has 3 scales (x0.1, x1, x10), whereas the model 3 has 4 scales (x0.1, x1, x10, x100). There might be more differences too, but those are the ones that I know of :)
In all terms it's a upgraded model 2, although the variations can be all over the place. Better circuitry, also higher ranges between the 2s and 3s. Ludlum has a catalog for those who have money to buy new from them and there are a few thousand slight differences you can put on a meter aside from just the original standard. Same goes for all of their meters, alot of times the ending of the model number will determine the changes, such as a model 14c, and a model 14c-5.
