Chat is saying that Drew's Stream is cringe is missing the point. He is portraying a person who hasn't streamed ever, you know the supposed TARGET DEGMOGRAPHIC of the Masterclass. Let's say we replace Drew with some average person, did you think that person will stream as highly energetic or as insanely good as per say Ninja, Ludwig or any popular streamers are, which mind you is the promise guaranteed by the Masterclass? I'm pretty sure the stream would look the same as Drew's if not worse which is fcked cause they paid for it.
@Keijo_

Exactly. If Drew cared about making the stream as successful as possible, there are plenty of things he could have done differently, including using his own channel and branding, but the point was to test the advice and show how effective it would be

Not only that but yes exactly drew wanted to mimick a fresh person who knows jack shit right. Watches the master class. And attempts streaming. Because if a famous streamer makes a MASTER CLASS. Bro atleast he is adding stuff to the video and adding insight. That is proven because even though Drew’s video was 37 mins, this video is 1 hour. Ludwig added of 23 mins of content to the video. Second, there are many other streamers like Xqc that react to content without saying anything, sometimes they aren’t even present in the stream and are just playing the video to fill. Also, Ludwig didn’t post his reaction, this youtube channel did so it’s not like he’s milking views off of someone else’s content. Finally, have you watched any of Ludwig’s videos? He actually doesn’t clickbait that often, look at his recent videos and tell me if the title of his videos are clickbait. Yeah there might be slight exaggerations in the title but they definitely aren’t enough to be labled as clickbait. I’m not saying Ludwig is right for reacting to this video and that it’s ok (In fact I think he is slightly in the wrong), I’m just saying that he probably did it the best possible way. P.S. I do not mean to belittle you with this reply I’m just trying to give perspective. Sorry if I offend you in any way. @@cairo2684 you can't look at the length of the video to say how much content there was. If someone sat still at their desk for a few minutes, would you call that content? If you were to just cut this video to show lud's words it would be pretty boring. Ludwig streamed himself watching drew's video, showing the whole video, and got donations and channel memberships while doing so. He still profitted off of it even if he didn't post the highlights to youtube himself. There’s a ton of RU-vidrs who do make a smooth transition to streaming. But that’s our survivorship bias kicking in. There’s plenty of creators who try for a week to a month, and then it just slowly fades out. People don’t remember those creators week transition to streaming, because why would they want to, just stick to the entertaining main channel edited videos. I think that in many cases it’s a fair assumption to think that the majority of RU-vidr’s transitioning to streaming is bad. There’s a ton of youtubers who can take their existing content and smoothly transition it to streaming and hold their fanbase. There’s also RU-vidrs who are really creative and can come up with new ideas that revolve around their demographics interest. But most of the time, the content doesn’t transition well to streaming, the quality isn’t as high as what’s expected from RU-vid videos, or that the RU-vidr isn’t accustomed to the high energy of streaming. In Gooden’s case, if he went back to streaming using his main stream, it’d be weird to watch a 5 hours unedited uncut analysis of someone else’s content like he did with the Ninja video. If he went out of his target demographic’s primary interests and did stuff like runescape gameplay, without creative ideas and high energy, only the people who are really big fans of Drew would stick around. They’d either be uninterested in the different content or they’d assume they could find the same content at a higher quality somewhere else. This is not a diss towards Drew, but it’s just how many RU-vidrs fail the transition, and I used his relatively short streaming experience as an example.
@heyyitsjude
@heyyitsjude Год назад
@@figlemon “There’s a ton of RU-vidrs who do make a smooth transition to streaming.” But…but we’re in agreement then! I never claimed every RU-vidr is successful on stream…Lud made what I considered to be a reductive blanket statement that discounted that significant “ton” you mentioned. I have no “survivorship bias” because of all the creators I consistently watch on RU-vid, those that do stream have successful streams…even the very inconsistent ones. I am simply not familiar with said bad streamers you or he is referencing. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist by any means, but I don’t have a bias for the “survivors” because I haven’t seen any real failures? And they don’t always do streams based on things pertaining to their normal YT content, sometimes it’s very far removed from their normal content but many fans find it entertaining to watch that person regardless of platform! That being said, what Drew did wasn’t experiment to see if he could transition to streaming successfully as an already successful RU-vidr. He created an account not connected to his brand, to emulate how it would be for a regular person (who doesn’t already have a leg up) to follow Ninja’s instructions. I am fairly positive Drew would have a successful streaming career, much like majority of his friends on the platform, because he already has at minimum like 500 fans (I’m super lowballing…Danny Gonzales had like 2k ish a stream and they’re the same person) who would watch him do pretty much whatever he wants to and enjoy it.

@figlemon
@figlemon Год назад
Yeah, the difference is that even though Drew had a big following on RU-vid, clearly the fanbase didn’t want to transition due to a lack of time/platform issues, or that the stream didn’t keep their interest like the normal content Drew makes. Ludwig and his friends streams, while they may be uninteresting to you, clearly are entertaining to their target demographic and are very successful. You’re friend who wants to be a streamer is just living in a daydream tbh. It’s like 8 years olds who want to be Michael Jordan so they play once a month.

@@figlemon don’t get me wrong i think ludwig is still great and interesting and one of the best streamers, as are his friends. they’re certainly very creative as well. also to be clear about Drew’s streaming endeavors, no one in his fanbase knew he was doing this or else he’d probably get at least 1000 viewers first stream. his point was to show that truly starting out from square one and just simply gaming with ninja’s recommendations proved to be unfruitful. and yeah my friend is definitely dreaming a bit but more in a greed way. she really just wants to be rich and famous lol. i actually really haven’t been friends with her for a while now but that’s not worth explaining.
@genericname8727
@genericname8727 Год назад
@@figlemon Drew deliberately used a username that wouldn’t be easily traced back to him and didn’t promote the stream. He was trying to see whether he could grow following Ninja’s advice. If he’d told his viewers he was streaming then some would’ve obviously tuned in. He only had two people comment in chat the entire time he streamed because those were the only people who found him organically, and they weren’t his prior fans. Part of what Drew’s videos show is that it’s hard to even get discovered on Twitch. It doesn’t really matter how interesting your content is if nobody is getting recommended to give it a chance. If there’d been many people tuning in then clicking off it’d be another story, but hardly anyone clicked on to the stream for even a moment.

Ok I get what Ludwig is saying at 27:00 but... What I hate more than anything in content creation education is when someone advises on luck. Ludwig is obviously knowledgeable beyond this and he is still right to be ready for a moment to capitalize on. But this is not reliable, it's not consistent and it doesn't align with the majority of new streamer's goals. Yes it would be nice to be Ninja famous. But I think any self respecting newcomer to streaming just wants to have a decent sized community that isn't absolute garbage and will help them find corporate money in order to pay rent.
@symawi312
@symawi312 Год назад
But.. finding all that is very luck dependent? I understand that you don't think it's good advise but it's literally just the truth of the occupation. There's little you can actionable do that ensures getting a decent sized community, that community not being garbage and then finding corporate money. The best advice is just trying till you get lucky I don't see what you would want him to say
@jedimaster0667
@jedimaster0667 Год назад
@@symawi312 I see where you're coming from. Many of the things we're discussing do have luck factors. But there are actionable things you can do. For one thing. You can't just stream. You have to have at least one other social media platform in addition to streaming. And if you are taking a shot in the dark with little plans. You have to be ready to keep doing what works. And if nothing works. Developing a plan based on what already works is important. Whether it's education or entertainment, comedy, DIY, etc. Having a posting schedule and practice and research is important. That's all actionable. While what Drew showed/summarized Ninja's class says, is the class says "just stream and be entertaining". Which is out of touch with how things work today. There is a luck factor. But you can't just turn on stream and put your hours in anymore. You can't just post to social media, text or video, once in a while or even everyday and expect results. But I agree that once you have your own unique plan for your unique approach. After that it's just consistency and luck.

He always referenced the number of hours he had streamed for 8 years before then. And also when fortnite released and Ninja started getting any notable amount of viewership he told his community he needed more financial support to keep playing the game, not necessarily guilting the chat to donate, but creating some form of pressure on a growing community to keep feeding him y’know

@figlemon
@figlemon Год назад
I think it many cases it’s a fair assumption to make. This is not a diss towards Drew, but it’s just how many RU-vidrs fail the transition. Paymoneywubby’s content was able to make a smooth transition. He has a bright personality, can hold the energy, and come up with creative ideas to hold people’s attention.
