Beautiful clarity. You have found a balanced compromise between personal interpretation, respect for the "classical" sound and rigour to convey the architectural complexity of the original score.
That Finale was fiery! Plus you kept the intensity during the development, while most of the performers play this part with lot of calm and tranquility, that was quite unexcepted (and good).
I am currently Learning the first movement. After I have seen your playing I cried. Such a beautiful technique! And your interpretation... so perfect. The clarity of the notes is also beautiful. You now have a big fan ♡
@@AndreiAndreev 3:33 pls how can you keep the left hand sound even and not muddy and can emphasize that bottom pinky note 3:36 HOW CAN YOU PLAY IT SO LOUD ON THE LEFT HAND? when i tried to do it my pinky always miss the black notes because of arm movement
💐A very enjoyable performance: It's always wonderful to appreciatively listen, as the next generation of interpreters perform through fresh eyes and ears - offering-up for us a magical new insight into the timelessness of Beethoven!s music. 🇦🇺
An excellent performance! Love your accents, phrasing, tempi - everything is just as it should be. A beautiful interpretation of this earliest of gems by Beethoven. Thank you.
Magnificient interpretation ! Precisely exécutate, absolutely incredible... Don't stop to play this sonata, you have achieve à great job six years ago ! Thank you Andreev !
You Sir, now have a devout subscriber. Your performance is sensible. No grandiose BS. Just music with great camera angles. Honestly I think this is one of the few interpretations I've come across that's filled with simplicity and common sense that I find lost in all that pointless fluff that other contemporary pianists employ. Trust me the eye roll is real! Thank you for music. May I have your permission to use your video as reference only should I need it at anytime?
I agree with you, but I don’t think you should criticize contemporary pianists’ styles. It’s ok to not understand or not like their styles, but you shouldn’t say that it’s pointless.
Its too strange the fact that Time really flies a lot, its been around 6 months since i graduated from Ethiopia, Jimma University Music School and Beethoven's Piano Sonata Op.2 no.1 First MVT'/Allegro was my final jury exam at that time i watched this video like a 100x and can't help but astonished by your way of playing and techniques and i said to my self woahh this dude is freaking cool😃...you know what i even watched the greatest D.Barenboim's version but still this one rocks. So i just want tell you that you're a wonderful and charismatic pianist. Last but not least praise to God i successfully performed my jury and now i am officially a Music Teacher in there🙏
First of all congratulations on your degree! Second, thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it. Third, indeed all the glory is to God. Good luck in everything! 🙌🏻👍🏻
Well Done!!! I'm playing the first movement for an exam at the end of this year. I don't know about you, but I always find that middle part at 2:29 so hard :o
A FANTASTIC performance, definitely will use this video as Ref. for my upcoming piano exam, you have a very unique understanding of this piece of music, and btw, gonna say this is a professional performance to me. Thanks for this performance.
Your playing is just beautiful. Clear as hell, beautiful touch and exquisite interpertation. Amazing tehnique. I guess this piece is a bit too easy for you.(of course, only in tehnical aspects beacuse every piece has its interpertation challenges.
Very good! parabéns linda interpretação, estou estudando essa obra , vendo vc tocar aprendi muitas coisas interessantes que antes não tinha me atentado em como fazer. Valeu
I’m playing this for a video audition(bc of corona) and I’m using this video as a recording to practice. It’s due in two days and I stupidly cut my nails WAY too short so now it HURTS to play piano, but whatever it’s not like I get into these auditions anyway😂 but anyway just wanted to say thank you for the great recording!!
Serious question: How does your technique get so good? Do you just repeat the same tiny section 100 times? Or do you practice scales? Or just practice 8hours a day? What is the secret? How do I as an amateur get closer to where you are?
Hi Andrei, this is a really great performance. I know you have no reason to answer this but I’m trying so hard to learn “Allegro” and I can’t figure out how to play those fast quadruplets (or a triplet and a crotchet) at the start of the piece. I can play almost the entire piece but I don’t know how to play those four notes in such a short time, I know you have a special technique for it. If you could share the way you move your hands to play it, I would appreciate it so much.
Hi! Great performance! I'm 14 and I'm learning the 1st movement of this Sonata. I'm preparing to play in a contest, and I was wondering when I should pedal. How do you figure that out? Thanks! =)
These are excellent performances but why are the development sections not repeated on the 1st and 4th movement (I would have only repeated the 1st movement development section myself and not the 4th movement development section)?
Check out my levels of piano playlist for those of you wanting to improve. There are three on my channel from easy to hard. I designed these to help the player gradually feel more confident going into some of the harder works
Well come on! Это произведение может исполняться в примерно пятом классе в музыкалке способным учеником. От исполнителей вашего уровня хотелось бы слышать более сложные и эмоциональные вещи.
Why are the development sections not repeated in the first and fourth movement? I am thinking about learning this sonata and thought they needed to be repeated. Although personally I would only repeat the first movement development and not the fourth movement development
Garen Loshkajian It is a good point; Beethoven (Mozart and Haydn too) was absolutely clear about da capo (repeat) markings; they are directions, not optional suggestions. There are far too many pianists today taking unwarranted liberties with these markings which are as important as directions regarding speed or mood or anything else; failing to play the repeats unbalances both a movement, and thus the work as a whole - it is an indefensible practice.
It is not hard to learn the notes. Judging from the ABRSM pieces, I think level 7 might be under-prepared for the last movement. The difficulties, as I am practicing this, are as follows: the delicate control over dynamics and fluency in the second movement is hard to achieve; the speed at which the last movement "sounds good" (meaning in my ears XD) might be hard to achieve.
2:40 2:41 Can I please know your fingering for the trills I have a competition and I'm really struggling with this Pls I am really really thankful if you can share it with me
This is considered one of the easiest Beethoven sonatas right? My teacher suggested this but seems quite difficult for my level, though it might be easier than it looks
