This guy is beyond gifted. He doesn't play music. Music radiates from him. I hope that if he has children, they inherit his virtuoso trait and learn to play the piano.

This is simply one of the most beautiful musical works ever created by a human being. If there are only 100 musical compositions to be selected to remember mankind by, in a distant future where man is extinct and other species can only study us by what we leave behind, this would surely be one of the first compositions to select for preservation.
Everything about this…he strokes the keys the same way lights kiss his skin, giving off that flickering hope in the harsh reality of life, beautiful and gentle gentle gentle.
It makes me think how this piece was written so many years ago that they were just like us. Felt love, pain ,happiness, anguish. Humanity isn't all together bad in the end is it...
Perhaps if humanity would seriously listen closely to this type of music, and consider the ultimate source of the music, hearts would be calmed, anger would abate, and peace would come.
Reader 66 What is the ultimate source of the music? You have not committed to a direct answer. (James 1:17) 'Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.' Yet we must admit that human art itself is not a 'perfect gift', insofar as sinful humans have ,made it. However the resources which our Creator has given us to enjoy music are a perfect gift. And even the greatest human 'creations' are nothing more than manipulations of raw materials supplied by God. Our 'creativity' is always derivative, never original. Does that being to approach what you are saying? David, as king-in-waiting, used to play the harp in order to calm the nerves of his paranoid father-in-law, King Saul. But eventually this therapy had its limits. Only inward spiritual transformation, which the Bible calls 'new birth', can turn individuals of our warrior race into peacemakers. For God Himself has initiated the 'peace process': (John 3:16) 'For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.'
This master pianist allows the focus to be upon the beautiful music instead of himself and gives it freely allowing the genius of Beethoven to be fully revealed and appreciated. Together they fill our senses with such peace and beauty. A gift from God.
god had nothing to do with it. He's linking the notes together with legato and pushing and pulling time with rubato. It's a well performed interpretation.
I am a poor piano player without the gift given to Beethoven or Chopin, but I can appreciate their work and benefit from the joy and comfort it provides and celebrate it regardless of its simplicity - like a great painting of few strokes. You explore the technical aspects of music and that's fine, but few care and judge with their ears and emotional response to the piece.
@@paulb.6751 I never ever diminished this work, It's not simple at all. In fact I can play it and the finger transitions are difficult. My point was "god has nothing to do with it".
I do believe... This is absolutely the result of incredible intense discipline, unbelievable determination and very, very hard work- for a very long time. You are absolutely magnificent, unbelievable and fantastic. Lol from Switzerland 🇨🇭
This my all time favorite Beethoven piece. Brings me to tears because i hear it in my soul. Yundi does this proud. I wish I had better words, just a simple man from south central Oklahoma
I am working on it also and following this video. It’s absolutely beautiful and Mr. Li is among the best in the world. I just finished learning Chopin’s nocturne in E flat major and was following Mr. Li’s video as well ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KLzYwT9YT-c.html. I couldn’t find any other video which is better. I don’t have a teacher, so RU-vid is the best resort. Thank you RU-vid! 🙏❤️😍
I can not describe how I feel when listening to this; words are not sufficient. I'm very thankful for the kind of beauty this music conveys in a world full of war and hate.

@ Rebecca Su this is not a tip line of a news outlet. Please stop pasting you comments repeatedly. Anything constructive to say? Let the rest enjoy his performance. Bravo Yundi. Please don’t give up.
For decades I have been listening to many different interpretations of this Adagio Cantabile by renowned pianists trying to find the touch, expressiveness and tempo which matches the magic of this composition. So far Rudolf Serkin had achieved the best performance in my view. However, I must say that this magnificent rendition by Yundi is among the three best ones
I love the way he played this movement. tenderness and calm. even if Beethoven himself may have played it more passionately, this version is also my taste.🤣
Yundi Lo en esta interpretación es como si su corazón hablara ,eso e s lo que yo siento cuando yo lo escucho,lo más profundo de su ser.Amo a ese joven cuando lo siento tocar
The sweetness of 'another world' is consistent throughout this Adagio, even during the rougher part. Beautiful interpretation of Beethoven's inner yearning.
The world is more beautiful because of you and your music! My favorite pianist!!!! Please continue. Excellent performance and high quality video recording!
Actually, it's Beethoven's music. Which has been played by Yundi and thousands of others over the years, but Yundi's interpretation is the absolute best.
Yundi will always be my favourite ❤. Period. I recently played one of chopin's preludes in my exam, and i went through many performances by different pianists. But his interpretation was by far the best and it helped me to get the top score in that exam. I owe it to him. Thank you yundi, and wherever you are right now please know that you are still much loved & respected!
@@mr.marino9247 “not even close” is an overstatement. People have different tastes in playing styles and I prefer Yundi’s version. Still I’m not gonna go putting down Barenboim because there’s no need to. I feel that there’s a need to be right in today’s internet era, but no, you don’t always need to be right.
Stunning performance. No one can play it better than you, Maestro Li. I could listen to this Adagio for hours and hours, to get inspiration from your outstanding talent and musicality. Thanks!
I second this. As a composer, I really am amazed by Yundi's Performance. Please checkout my piece: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S_oF4FUpDjA.html Thank you.
This is not a movement played pianissimo, this is a collection of notes and phrases chosen and emplaced specifically to interrupt the silence exactly to convey the mood.
Yundi, I have to tell you something. You are absolutely amazing. I love your playing style so much and this is probably the best pieces I have heard in my life. Keep it up! ❤❤❤
This is possibly my absolute favorite piano piece, and Yundi is definitely top 3 for best interpretations. Adagio Cantabile calms my soul every time =)
Listen with headphones soon after waking up in the morning and it is that much more powerful, to me at least. Not desensitized to the day yet. Truly brings a tear.
hosinooji not really actually he is still having his classic piano concert everywhere frequently you think he doesn’t play anymore but it’s totally wrong,he love piano strongly,so he won’t give it up absolutely
I'm playing a band interpretation of this and my director told me to listen to a piano version of it so we could get the ambiance. And this is the best version I've found.
I love it! One of my favorite pieces. The harmonies, the flourishes & the phrases are all so intuitively melodic. Just an absolutely beautiful piece of art!
He interprets this so well, so right and so beautiful. He nails the simpleness and delight of this Beethoven's lovely sonata! I think this is the best version I have ever heard.
Yundi, I just love this pieve of Beethoven, and it is wonderful to listen to this beauty when you are performing. You are fanastic. Thank you so much for sharing your huge and adorable talent.
