Keep an ear out when they say "friend" in the show. They often say "nakama" which while it usually translates roughly to friend, colleague, or comrade it tends to have a lot heavier of a meaning in One Piece than when they use tomodachi to say "friend".

arlong is not the worst...we forget that later we get his past and why he is the way he is and bellemere while nice is a former marine so its hard to love her 100% and she kinda made a mistake attacking arlong and not shooting him lying about her kids and all that

@@razkable I mean she lied to him because she didn’t have the money to pay for the “fines” Arlington pit against all of those in the village. And yes, even though as little he was treated harshly, it never justifies you hurting others who had nothing to do with anything in the first place. This principle is in our common sense and we can theoretically apply it in arlong’s case. (But their pirates so they don’t give a F**k)
