Jack, do not forget that as of now, Luffy is allied with two of the four Emperors (Shanks and Whitebeard) and with three Warlords (Boa, Jimbei and Crocodile (?)). He is also friendly with Rayleigh (Roger's VC) and is also allied with the Revolutionary Army (Ivankov). So, you have got someone who keeps making allies and has people following him everywhere he goes. Even here, where Luffy is surrounded by people much much MUCH stronger than him, he is leading the charge and has other stronger people protecting him. This is the FRIGHTENING power that Mihawk is talking about and is nothing less than a prophecy, IMO.

I like Boa's daydreams. Especially this one, since people compared the wedding dress she wears to the one Oda's wife had at their wedding. They are suprisingly comparable. So this might be a foreshadowing or just Oda having a laugh at the fanbase for turning every panel into a new theory. :)

Only the tip of smoker’s baton is Sea Prism Stone or he wouldn’t be able to touch it either. The shaft is presumably just regular steel.

@@jbe5911 Yeah but he was just a captain, that's a super rare weapon. Honestly someone like kizaru should have it, But I think it's more Oda realized how op it is. So the argument would be those ship's are the navy's biggest expense, even over crew pay. And that little weapon is worth as much as a top tier sword or decent ship, 100s of millions berries. There also is a combat problem, in the last episode luffy gear 2 could keep up with smoker and was probably faster but still couldn't hurt him. What woulda happened if luffy had grabbed that stick where it wasn't seastone and tore it away? Now he has something that CAN hurt smoker. So in that instance having his weapon might have been a weakness. Same with say kizaru.

since you seem to be confused about fishmen karate, it manipulates water. its most effective in water itself of course but it can also manipulate the water in the air or in someones body, thats why jinbei can send out shockwave like attacks form a distance

To be honest, this will be explained in the anime way further down the line (Fishman Island). I don't remember whether it was already explained in any shape or form (e.g. in an SBS) at this point in the story. Apart from theories, we might have been as clueless about fishman karate as Jack at this point.

Headcanon: Crocodile was leagues ahead of Luffy in terms of power scaling, but Luffy's sucker punch in Alabasta left him concussed and unable to fight at his full potential.

Crocodile suffered from early villain syndrome and as a result he was very undervalued and considerably weaker during Alabasta then he actually is. He was so nerfed to the point where he lost in a place where he should be nigh-on invincible. So yeah I guess he might have just been sucker punched and got a concussion or he was hungover or something but one thing is for sure and that is he was not thinking properly

based on what we see in the story, alabasta crocodile is the outlier. he was never meant to be that weak. warlords weren't even planned originally, so crocodile's strength was a bit poorly planned for long term.

He is refering to Luffy's ability to make friends and turn anyone around him into his ally. remember... he was alone after Sabaody. but look at who are on his side now~ The prisoners, The lvl 6 bigshots, Roughly 3 warlords (crocodile, jinbei, hancock), whitebeard himself and all of his crew

The OST that starts at 9:38, right when Mihawk appears is called "The Strongest - Epic Battle". Since Eneis Lobby, that OST is not played ever, but until Mihawk's appearance towards Luffy in Marineford. it's just TOEI foreshadowing the battle of the strongest swordsman in the world.

3:54 Smoker's weapon only has Sea Prism welded on the tip, by the way. That also makes it harder for Smoker to accidentally make contact with the Sea Prism part and nullifying his own powers as he's fighting with it.

Hawkeye actually was frying to kill Luffy, but as a test. Basically he was seeing if Luffy's destiny was greater than his sword skill, much like when Zoro tested his luck vs the cursed blade. Though admittedly, he definitely wasn't trying his hardest. Also, this is the first we get to see Luffy using observation haki. That moment where it looked like he got his arms cut off was him seeing what would happen based on how he and Hawkeye were moving.

Buggy facing Mihawk is one of my all-time favourite scenes. The OST you're looking for is actually from Movie 6. What's great is the longer this series gets, the more movies and OVAs we get, which means more music. Some of the music is so good that it was kept for the series proper.

No but Crocodile's power is a pretty good counter for Doflamingo's. How are you gonna grab and immobilize sand? Also, the Gum Gum Human Shield move, with the whole Muggy Ball scene right after is such gold, it gets me every time. Mihawk calmy slapping it away has the same energy as Enel bonking Usopp in the head.

What Mihawk meant about Luffy was that,even though he's not even close to being the strongest in the Grand Line,his ability to befriend others and have them work alongside him for his cause is the most terrifying of all. We've seen it time and time again how Luffy could never achieve his dream by himself,but with a full crew and loved ones ready to help him,his crazy ideals are closer to becoming reality with each passing day. That's why he's been able to survive in the battlefied of Marineford at all too, the other pirates,and Whitebeard too,want to see him succeed!

Also maybe not in time, but worth mentioning. Hancock uses 'Wareware' when she uses first-person, it translates as 'We'. So she literally everytime refers to herself as 'We', like a royal person she is.

Mihawk was referring to Luffy's personality. He can rally everyone behind his back. I bet that would be the final arc. All the kingdoms and pirates he saved or befriended versus the world government.

im pretty sure its just the tip of smokers weapon that is sea stone. if the whole thing was sea stone he wouldnt be able to use it himself.

Marineford is so good because at every point from the start you think "alright this is it let's see the fights" then some insane power or new fighter or unexpected clash occurs. It just never ends
