Every other reactor always writes off Squard and wishes him death, Jack is the first one to actually understand why Squard stabbed Whitebeard; big kuddos, this is exactly why Jack is my favorite anime reactor...
Whitebeard jumping into the war and Sengoku screaming “Watch out he’s running wild. He’s the Strongest Man in the World” will never fail to give me chills. To command the battlefield amongst other strong individuals in an old age and while sick is only something someone like Whitebeard could have done.
jack, you are goat'd. you are the first reaction to have compassion for squard. every other reaction has wished death on him without understanding why and how he was fooled. he was told by a navy admiral a lie and the navy changed the battlefield itself to enforce that lie and they told that lie to the one person in the entirity of whitebeard's forces that would believe that lie, simply due to the immense hatred that he has for roger. it was pyschological warfare to the T. and thank you, jack for understand that squard was a victim.
@@_Cfocus i mean he'd either have to upload a vid with 1 or 3 episodes in which just makes no sense, sometimes the 2 episodes that are together make sense together and sometimes they wont, thats just life
Actually, there is something else in this scene. There are suspicions that Whitebeard allowed Squad to hit him, when he noticed the movement. Because - well, he could not hit his son who attacked him, it would only make the situation worse, and he did not want to punch his son at all, and even from the outside it would look like a split in the team. Whitebeard would look completely guilty when the Squad started talking about the fake conspiracy. There was no way to make this situation any better if he didn't take the hit, because his speech afterward worked both in general, for team and war action, and on the Squad specifically, just because he took the hit.
Whitebeard is very sick and old here. He couldn't dodge it even if he wanted to as we'll see throughout the rest of the war. He isn't even able to really use haki at this point
@@bc1176I literally said that there are only suspicions. But in general - we clearly saw the moments where the disease slowed him down (not yet, but we'll see later), and this was not one of them. Even Jack noticed and very correctly said - at the moment of attack, he did not even look surprised, rather disappointed.
Yeah its sometimes mistranslated but Marco basically says Whitebeard couldn't dodge it then mentions how they shouldn't have let Whitebeard remove his medical equipment. So a younger healthier Whitebeard could have dodged Squard's attack easily but here his age and sickness on top of his guard being down (he didn't think Squard would ever attack him) is why he got hit.
@@nemjor9253not every movie. In the first Shazam movie they make fun of that trope by making the bad guy having his BBEG monologe while Shazam is a bit further away and shouting that he's too far away to understand.
@@Drachendaemon1yeah, but it's only ever that. It's only distance does not matter, or joke that you can't hear. And in some cases, drama because the character sees something but doesn't hear so makes wrong assumptions because they're too stupid to just ask what's going on. Distance is very rarely used in an interesting way
At the end of the day Newgate was fond of his family. Family is everything to him. Guys I am sorry that I am drunk at this moment and I am babbling about whitebeard. But it makes my heart ache to think for a second what family means to Newgate. I am realising now that he was more than a gigachad. He was the symbol of what a parent/guardian should be to his child. My eyes are filling up with tears. 😢😢😢
The scene that represent the most Whitebeard...Him embrassing his son that has stabs him...The need for belonging and a family is more important to him than anything else, especially in a world filled with broken toys and lost souls. It's beyond loyalty, it's almost inconditional love !
Us in the Community refer to him as Primebeard, and I agree that era would be cool to see in an OVA or something with Garp, Sengoku, Tsuru, Shiki, Roger ofc and others not named
That's his 3rd handicap. 1st is making him sick so he can't use all his power because he has to be off med to fight. 2nd is that he has to hold back to not hurt his own men while fighting. 3rd is getting stabbed in a treacherous way (which if you're caught up with the manga, you know it's an official admiral move that even former admirals use in their fights)
This for me was when I fell in love with Whitebeard as a character and it's crazy to think that even in the current arc, he would still be oje of the biggest powerhouses in One Piece
Akainu wasnt lying though in a way when he said the core whitebeard pirates wouldnt be un touched at this point in the fight, but its simply because they are all so strong. The Pacifista are perfect control troops too since they can contain anyone not in the New world basically and just 1 can stomp warlord level pirates and below.
Even at this point of the series, personally one of the best entrances if not the best entrance to a fight. WB running and jumping from the ship Lets goo, pure goosebumps.
So far, of all reactors I watched, you're the only one who feel bad for Squard. I understand that Squard is a fool to fell that manipulation so easily but the reason why (G)Oda-sensei show us Squard backstory to show us reason why did he do it and why he is the one got manipulated easily.
You just know Squard is gonna hate himself for the rest of his life... hes the reason Whitebeard enters the fight already injured. AND he made Marco turn around and fly back. Really makes you wonder what that naiv kid does nowadays
I read/caught up on One Piece back in 2016. If I had been sharing my reactions of this arc then, they would've looked a lot like your reactions. Keep holding on, nakama, because for Marineford, you ain't seen nothing yet! 🏴☠️👑
