All ghost portraits in Luigi's Mansion for 3DS. This takes a look at the bronze, silver, gold and platinum portraits for every ghost in the game.
This channel features transformative & instructional video game guides, walkthroughs, speedruns & many other unique video creations. My own personal creative input, gameplay and editing are clearly added into each video to ensure that all videos adhere to RU-vid's partner program guidelines. All gameplay is my own & is recorded and edited solely by me. Permission to upload each game was provided by the game publisher.

I love how the bronze portraits look, like the ghost is crudely stamped onto the portrait, and how it really looks like those crappy prisons couldn't hold them for very long. Boolossus especially looks like he could escape at any moment. ^^

Glad they redid the portraits. In the original, even the gold portraits had some odd designs, like Bogmire's showing a grey version of himself, or Nana's showing her all wavy.

The originals were basically just their models with a bunch of gradients and photoshop filters applied, if I remember correctly

That's, in fact, something I'd like to see - this video but for the original on Gamecube (preferably at Dolphin Emulator resolution, and obviously excluding Platinum since it didn't exist back then).

Honestly, I kinda like how the bronze potraits look. I'd say it gives you a hint of how they all looked like when they were alive.

@JAMES BARKER Wait, right! You even need to avoid collecting the pearls dropped by Painting Ghosts! Seems like getting the worst rank possible would, in fact, be a real challenge! And any actual player (as opposed to a TASbot) who manages to get a Gold or Platinum gallery with an H rank mansion is either a cheater or a gaming god.

In DS Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart 7 should have kept their variety of ghost portraits rather than making them all Boos, with the quality of those portraits being exactly identical to how Nintendo would make them on a 3DS 7 years later.

Dry Bowser You can only get them in Hidden Mansion, and you have to decrease a portrait ghost 90%, or 140 HP, and for boss ghost, you can’t take damage, I believe!

outdatedpidge I think you CAN take damage on boss ghosts, just stay above 90 HP. But most boss attacks do over 10 HP on Hidden, so you basically have to not get hit. lol

My favorite Portrait Ghost? I never thought of that before. But I did have a favorite portrait for each of them...from the GameCube version that is. Of course, these platinum portraits make the Portrait Ghosts look even better now! Except for Chauncey's. 😐

You have to suck out at least 90 hp of a portrait ghost on your first try so if a portrait ghost end s up with 10 hp left you will get gold and for boss portrait ghosts you have at least 90 hp since you can't really get the boss ghost on your first try but it is probably possible.

Another option for regular portrait ghosts (in the original, not sure about the remake but there was no real reason to change it) is to get less than 10 HP out on the first try and the entire rest on the second. Not sure if you can take any amount of tries as long as you drain 90 HP on any one particular try, but probably yes.
