Tim burton has a great eye. Not only does Guzman have the original look, he has comic character acting ability to steal any scene. He’s great.

Love this guy....HILARIOUS in How To Make it in America which unfortunatley didnt last long, I LOVED the show... his scene at the end of the movie Nothing Like the Holidays made me cry like a baby, cause I was going through family issues at the time....

I find it blashpemous to compare him to the previous Gomezes, I think he is a different Gomez, a very loving father and husband. I want to see Luis Guzman more in the coming seasons for sure. I trust Tim Burton’s vision.

I was personally disappointed in him as Gomez. He would have made a much better uncle Fester. The chemistry between him & Catherine Zeta-Jones just wasn’t right. Perhaps Benicio del Toro would have been a better choice.

Luis Guzman was the perfect choice as Gomez Addams in my opinion. He looks just like the original Gomez Addams drawing. Tim Burton made a good choice and stayed true to the original face and personality of Gomez. But if it was up to me i would have personally cast John Leguizamo as Gomez Addams. John Leguizamo might be short but i think he would have done a good job.

Sadly, a lot of people expects Gomez to have the same type of build as his predecessors live action actors. Clearly they have never read the comic strips or watched the animated versions.

Why? There will never be another Raul Julia when it comes to Gomez. Best not to try to duplicate that. Luis was excellent in his own way and they nailed the look from the original comic. Different versions are fine.

As Charles Addams drew the characters, Mr. Gomez is very, very close to the original. They've gone back to the original inspiration.
