People that have watched consistently Luka since he played for Real Madrid know that he is special. There is no 25yo or younger better than Luka. And there are not many players over 25yo that are better than Luka right now either. He did a MVP worth season. I LOVE Shai but the guy is not better than Doncic. I think his "white pretty face", together with his ability to father his rivals make lot of people hate him and underrate him. Kinda Christian Laettner in the university. Also, being honest, Luka complains too much, which gives people a reason to dislike him. Luka is going to finally open eyes when the Mavs win the NBA title this year. And people will finally get off K. I.’s back. Best back court ever. And Dallas finally has a couple legit centers. They have very good 3 and D players. The team is confident and deep.
The answer to your question is what nobody wants to talk about which is they're all biased because they don't want a white man up there as the best basketball player. Luka has proven to have had one of the best seasons in the history of any basketball player. Anthony Edwards stats don't even measure up to a fraction of Luka's other than the fact that he resembles MJ on the court. People are afraid to say this but I'm going to call it like I see it and that is that all these analysts are racist. If there was a NBA player like SGA or Edwards averaging what Luka averaged this year they would be comparing him to MJ and probably saying that he's better than MJ but because the player we're actually talking about is white then none of these analysts want to go there. I'm so tired of the Stephen A Smith's, Kendrick Perkins, Malika Andrews and all these bigots who puff up their chest portraying themselves as all knowledgeable in basketball and NBA history and historical stats. What's funny is that if you actually ask former superstars who retired they would give you a different answer. Ask Allen Iverson who he would love to play with in his whole career and guess what he came up with Luka Doncic because he really admires his overall game. The only way Luka can really keep the media quite is to win a ring and a finals MVP award. That's it. I think that would help for his future MVP chances as well and all of those names on the under 25 list won't compare because none of them have chip as well.
Luka is playing in his second conference finals and so far they have won the first game despite not playing well and being somewhat injured… Let the great experts interpret the results, and his numbers this season are absolutely MVP-worthy.
