True but he might not win another mvp if he doesnt get this one. Im a Luka fan through and through but Wemby is coming out to be a natural disaster. Unless Wemby gets injured or still not in the finals next year, that MVP and 2nd DPOY will be Wemby's on his 2nd year. Not even a Wemby fan but seeing him destroy these defensive and stat records on his first year is crazy scary for everyone else competing for MVP for next year.

Totally agree, stated this about 3-4 weeks ago when it was noticeable how opposing players were going out of their way to be nice to Luka. Dapping him up before games and laughing at his jokes,, Luka is a great player but he's not that funny.

What happened to best player on the best team? LeBron was denied additional MVP awards year after year because this became the new standard. Now everyone wants Luka to get one desperately when he doesn't play defense.... Can't get his team to the finals.... And doesn't have the best team in the regular season.

@@KC-lg8qf luka hasnt won an mvp, lebron has multiple, luka has had an amazing season almost a 34 pt triple double and he got his team to the 5th seed, possibly 4th if they didnt sit luka the last 2 games on the season. luka's defense isnt great but he does play some defense when he wants too and he's got a good amount of steals. he just took his team to the western conference finals 2 years ago. luka has a nice team around him now to make a good run during the playoffs. there are plenty of players that have won MVP that played little defense.

@@gnome-ski west finals two years ago has nothing to do with now... I really feel like the award has become a lifetime achievement award. Like we're going to make sure everybody gets a chance to have the gold star once or twice if they are a good player. Harden ...Westbrook....Rose.....Nash etc. The NBA really needs to simplify things and just give the award to the best player in the league. Which Luca is not. Embiid is the best and most dominant...but he was hurt. Luka is absolutely one of the best.... But he is not the best. I don't mind if he wins because the luster of the award is kind of gone now. They've given it to the wrong person so many times that I don't think people actually care about it.... Like the Grammys. I'm fine with him winning it with the Mavs as a fifth sead..... I'm just not okay with the criteria constantly changing so they can give it to whoever the flavor of the month is.... And I certainly don't think Jokic it should be a three time MVP. His team is stacked. I also don't understand how we have just forgotten about the dominance of Gianni's...

@@KC-lg8qf embiid is not the best, jokic walks embiid, ez. joker got robbed of mvp last season by embiid. embiid had a better year this season which you could say he was ahead in the mvp race till he got hurt but last year he was not better than joker. doncic is my mvp, embiid has no durability so he's not in the best player category to me. also giannis is not having a better season than joker or doncic.

@@gnome-ski jokic has a great team around him. Embiid is just not starting to get a good cast around him. That's why the Nuggets have more success. Embiid is also on a whole other planet defensively compare to Jockic. Remember there are two sides to the game.
