Great build. Yep, cars in magaizines,....ha ha. Well, I remember, back when I had a mini truck. I went to the Carlisle PA all truck show. And there it was, the early 60s pro Street Ford Ranchero,...in its purple color, with small California Raisin character on the lower front fenders. Only thing, it wasn't the same purple as in the magazine. So, I asked the owner if he had it repainted? Nope, he said, the magazine printing process changed it, and he gets that question quite a bit. So, when You showed that pic, and said it was orange,......I was thinking back,...and then You said it. But, at least on my TV screen and phone, Your 57 looks red to me. So, even online pics can alter colors. Sweet build either way.

Love the video, one correction that's not an A/C compressor, it's the generator. They had huge generators back then

That is one amazing build .I know the 68 charger revell kit the hood doesn't fit right and the front valance pan gives me a fit

I wanted to do that very same car in Hot Rod magazine as you did but was discouraged back then because there wasnt any 150 bodies in model car form and didnt cut up 2 models the way you did back in the day that i knew it wouldnt work. So decades later we finally have the Revell black widow kit , i didnt do the one you did but i made a replica using a 4 barrel carb and a white over turquoise paint job including the rims for someone who had the real one back in the day and the model came out real nice like yours! You did a great job replicating that "orange one" from Hot Rod magazine, very glad to see someone doing that car👍🏁

Nice engine detail.

I have a similar build I always wanted to since I was a teenager. Not as unusual as your car, but the color was unusual. I saw this '66 GTO in this orange that I thought was so cool, only to find out the '66 never came in the color Orbit Orange. I found out that the '66 could be special ordered in Omaha Orange but it was too dark compared to what one I saw. I then found the color on a '70 GTO and it was Orbit Orange, not available for the '66. So now I got the kit and I'm gonna paint it Orbit Orange because it is so cool.

Really cool model and perfect color. I've used to buy magazines to inspiration for my models and now we have the internet. It was a blast to open a mag and be shocked by a particular car...

I´ve been building this same kit for some time now, as my first kit to build after returning to the hobby :D Got the paint properly done for the first time ever. I wanted to make it into a stock Utility Sedan with a straight six, but haven´t found an engine for it yet

Two things...I'm wondering if the black and white 57 is the same one that I saw many, many years ago at a Super Chevy Show at Sears Point. There can't be that many of them out there. I remember that it had the truck hubs and no caps. Second, I look at those "unwanted cheapie" cars back then and wish I had one. I looked up Ford Granadas and Fairmonts not long ago and they are selling for more than when they were new! Same for that year on Chevy Malibu and El Camino!
