Love this song. I introduced it to my jam group recently. He sounds like his dad not only with his voice, but with his songwriting style, adding jazzy touches of chromaticism to a country foundation. This isn't the whole song as recorded, though, missing the last verse and chorus, with a nice coda with more of those jazzy touches.

It's the same one he plays in the earlier version of this song. It's a steel guitar with open holes.

Nope. Lukas wrote it, and recorded it with his band Promise of the Real on the album A Few Stars Apart. It's not too surprising that his songwriting, like his vocals, sound a lot like his dad.
