his closing comments, going to take about 6 weeks, going to be lots of filming. are the rest of your subscribers as excited as me? i am looking forward to it. just amazes me each time they start peeling boards off the mill just how far they have come. its seems like they started with a wrecked mill and a patch of dirt and look how far they have come and what they have achieved. they are still thinking, planning and building. thats the sort of thing you need to get America back on its feet and upright again....
What little I buy from Home Depot type stores I go online order for pickup. Most times you can order for pickup in 1 to 2 hours. Walk in give my name pay walk out. The screws you knew you needed for weeks in advance you can order longer screws and they will let you know when they are in the store for pickup. We still have a sort of old time hardware store. I use them and support that store as much as possible. Wonderful video mere in a million years would I expect to be watching and interested in a saw mill. Ultimately it comes down to you are story tellers. Thumbs up this video
Enjoy seeing the Mills progress, and it interesting watching logs get cut in different ways. It would be great to seeing the double edger also being used by Eddie while you mill a log.
Just love watching everything the two of you do. Have been watching since you found the mill, transported it and set it up here. Don’t know why I love watching timber being sawn? The kicker for me is watching all the non sawing tasks you do - I wouldn’t normally do so. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into bringing your videos to us all! 😛
Looking better all the time and you and T.H.E. make a good team. Mike and Maw Ruth has a time sometimes. The mill down the road is set up like his except they have a cutoff pon the main roller bed side instead of a grinder. And yall have the most COLORFUL mill I have EVER seen! I think the mill here has a sign in front of the cutoff that says 'No Idiots Allowed Beyond This Point' for good reason. Thanks, Mark and yall have a SUPER week and GBWYall!
Enjoyed the video Mark & Eddie. I would love to hear a little history of how y'all got into your business. I think you will do well with the kiln. I had sawn some lumber off my place and I called all over North Carolina and no one dries lumber for the public that I could find. My lumber has been air drying for two years this October. Thanks for taking the time to produce the videos. Y'all take care and God bless.
He keeps calling it an ugly log and can’t stop thinking about milling it down and turning it into shelves or cutting boards. That crazy grain is beautiful.
Mark and T.H.E. Eddie, I just found your channel recently and I love watching your videos. Please keep them coming as I really look forward to not only the sawing but all the projects you have going. I think you and T.H.E are copies of the original Jack-Of-All-Trades.
Had you ever looked into a vacuum kiln? It really helps without any degradation to the wood especially when working with expensive slabs. It also usually only takes about 1 to 3 weeks without major air drying. If fresh from the saw without any drying then a little more as you need to go easy on the lumber.
Eddie me fait penser à Lagrange de ZZ TOP avec sa barbe et ses lunettes .. il ne manque que la guitare !... joli travail Mark .. en France on vous regarde ....
Yeah for sure, those cheap damn screws from china from the big box stores are junk. I realize money doesn't grow on trees, and we have to watch spending our hard earned money. 🇺🇸 BUY AMERICAN 🇺🇸 Love your channel, Mark and Eddie are the best entertainment, never a dull moment or a dull saw blade. Keep making lumber and sawdust.
Hi Mark and Eddie. I have been waiting all week for your latest video and it did not disappoint. Your industry puts many to shame, and your knowledge, or know how, whether gained from being trained or through trial and error is inspiring, as is your inventiveness. You have brought the mill so far since I first began to follow you. I appreciate the effort that goes into making, editing and uploading the videos but just cannot wait for the next one to arrive. I love your workshop projects too. You and your families take care and stay safe! Stan
Congratulations on over 25,000 subscribers! That was one UGLY log! Nice start on the kiln. It is a shame that you go to a big box store and can't find what you need. Or the clerks don't know where they put them.. Give me an old fashioned hardware store anytime. Great video and congrats!
Do you have the new wheels and rails installed for this video? If so, how do you find the system working so far? Don in Nova Scotia. Best of the season you two, stay safe.
When you get the remainder of the sawmill under roof and siding on the south side the air flow might not be as much as it is now. I am going to guess the prevailing winds are out of the west southwest in your part of Pennsylvania. Your sawmill cab is visible on Google Street View. They took the pictures before the building went up.
Good job guys! Looks like that is going to be a nice toaster oven when you are done! :-) BTW, it looks like you ran the boards from that "interesting" log thru the edger. It would have been interesting to see a few minutes of that too. See how a log turns into a real board and not just a wavy slab.
At least we have some decent weather to be working in for a change. How many flags in the collection now? You might want to consider posting a list of what has arrived to prevent duplication. It would also give a good idea of just how far reaching your audience has become.
Sadly HD and Lowe’s have given up selection to sell the same garbage was WalMart and the sort. Why do we need cleaning products and six thousand BBQ’s in a place that is supposed to be for building materials? We used to have a hardware and building supply store in my town that had everything you needed to build a house or building. HD wiped them out and now we cannot get decent wood or construction supplies.
mark galicic you’re so right. I’m on a first name basis with my local hardware store owner. They have owned it for three generations and the store has been there for 150 years. It used to serve miners from the gold rush era!
Should’ve just bought a used reefer container. Already insulated 3” all the way around and a complete stainless steel interior with 2” drain holes in each corner….tack system flooring….
