Again, thank you for the video, my criticisms aren’t if you but in an attempt to discuss the tool. It made the first shot look like you shot insjde the Venetian in Las Vegas, very odd. The second was a good flattening, which many tools are capable of with a click. and the third was another weird one. I don’t see where this is better than clicking auto in Lightroom. It seems a single exposure hdr merge is supposed to fit in the obviously overdone hdr of instagram, so I guess that’s the target.
Ben, is it possible to achieve the results you get in single image HDR Merge by using other Neo tools instead? In other words, is single image HDR Merge in Neo doing something new that cant be achieved any other way in Neo?
Hi John, firstly thank you for watching the video. The results you acheive using HDR Merge on a single image, are acheivable using other tools inside the Essentials section, the difference between both is that HDR Merge will give you the best result balancing the lights and darks in the image straight away, where as it takes time for the user to try and achieve the same result manually. The other up side is, the multiple exposures which only HDR Merge can accomplish inside Luminar NEO, but if you don't shoot multiple bracketed photos then it's down to to convenance and time, being the main reason that a someone would be interested in the HDR software. I hope that has helped John
