I believe every software should have an option for free "Learning edition" that way software creators themselves help to train new generation of customers paying for commercial license. Its very unlikely beginner will shell out for it anyway and its rather easy to check if commercial projects use legal software. Simple as that if you earn money from it you pay money to the developers if not keep having fun for free maybe one day you will earn money with it and now we rightfully deserve a piece of your success
For me, Lumion is a very good rendering software, but they still have a lot of things to fix. 1) No soft shadow for area light 2) Limited reflection plane slots 3) No reflection for curved surfaces 4) No Raytracing. 5) Full PBR features which includes Ambient Occlusion. But i'm glad that they now have metallic paint for Cars which has been one big setback.
The Animated Phasing Effect is a construction animator's dream come true. Very excited to see how other Lumion users can find new ways to tell stories with this new release.
Gorgeous software and very intuitive. Can't wait to see how this evolves in the future! Hoping to see joint works with VR and AR technologies to further push architectural visualizations to a whole new level.
Vray: Did you ever hear the tragedy of Lumion the renderer? Architec: No? Vray: I thought not. It's not a story the Architecs would tell you. It's a Rendering legend. Lumion was a Dark legend of the 3D renders, so powerful and so wise he could use the GPU to influence the PC's to create renders… He had such a knowledge of the 3D representation, he could even keep the projects he cared about from a bad quality. Architect: He could actually save projects from bad quality? Vray: The dark side of the Architecture is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. Architec: What happened to him? Vray: He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his Ctrl+Z, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others with Ctrl+Z, but not himself. Architec: Is it possible to learn this power? Vray: Not from Lumion.
@@JuIito That was supposed to be a joke? I see. Not surprising from what I assume is a grown adult human being in 2020, using the phrase,... "padwan".... unironically.....and without the slightest hint of self awareness. Do you also carry around a little toy plastic lightsaber?
IES lighting, rain streaks and the orthographic features are nice additions. Rest seems like library and material additions...which I can get from other sources. That intro house video at the beginning looks good, but there appears to be a lot of "flickering" on many of the materials. Sometimes it's difficult to know if its from the render, or if it's created when uploaded, but that seems to be an issue I deal with in all of my renderings - areas flickering. And it's not 2 materials fighting that can be fixed easily with the flicker adjustment - Lumion just creates some areas that "flicker". That's really my only gripe with Lumion. Love everything else.
Suggestions for future updates : 1. Please add camera importing feature (from program like pftrack or maya) 2. Please make it easy for green screen work
really? no engine improvements? no RTX? why not lil bit of engine improvements?! something closer to vray or corona, its just new characters and materials,it is so disappointing...
A new engine is not the only NEW thing they need. They completely need to change the pricing system. It is way too much to pay yearly what they are asking for, just to get a few simple QoL changes that any licensed owner should get for free.
@@nokia6630videos yes its great u r right, but most softwares already have it. Maybe thats why he didnt point that out and its easy for developers to apply that feature. Not a 1 year thing I think :D
@@mcan-piano4718 if u use lumion you'd know the time snd work this feature will save, for example I used to render in sketchup for a top orthographic renders and in lumion for perspective renders, this means I had to work twice on the same project and give it the same materials on two different programs and believe me it's lotta pain in the ass and very time consuming, now i can do it all on lumion. Clients want perspective shots and parallel projections for the facad and top interior views, they don't give a single fuck about what rtx feature your rendering program has honestly ...
@@nokia6630videos you could easily simulate this by going extremely big focal length. All they had to do was make f.l. value of lets say 300k and you got ortho view. Its so simple and ridiculous it wasnt implemented from the start. Just like custom resolution for example.
@@hldemi the extreme focal length alone never got the job 100% done because from a certain distance the materials start overlapping and looking funny and of course u have to freehand the camera position and angles which never gives accurate results, for example u can never achieve a perfect parallel projection top view like in sketchup, but now all that is possible, a bit late but I ain't complaining.
Lumion should expand its ability to support more customized animation and visual effects import. The biggest competitor, Unreal perfectly supports Houdini, C4D, Maya, etc.
Animated Phasing is the best part of the lumion 11 and other feature like orthographic views, ignite the atmosphere, rain, etc are also cool Lumion 11....... Wooooow... And it's time to upgrade my system aswell 😬😬😬
We ended up spending hours coming up with cool new ways to animate things into existence with the animated phasing. Time-lapse movies have become so much more fun!
Futures?! Best problems for me: -NO Camera import from other software. Very big trouble! -NO import vertex/mesh animation from other software. -NO OpenEXR 16/32 bits format for saving images. -Cant add custom HDRI for lighting. -Cant customise material as PBR (diffuse, reflection, refraction, glossy, alpha, bump, displmnt and etc.) -Cant use separated parts of imported model, like as in Twinmotion. The model is imported as a solid object. -Big problems with reflections and refraction. Guys, you making very good Software, but its still as a toy! Not a PRO, but price is VERY hight for wet software..
@@ahmetkafa5178 honestly choosing between a free software with better rendering quality but requiring harder learning and an absurdly expensive software with minor upgrades from its predecessor isn't difficult of a struggle man. If you already know how to use UE you're better off improving your skills at it than these cash grab corporates trying to sell u the same package with different paper wrap every year
Well... If the quality get as good as Unreal, then yes! But right now Lumion is just for small projects, any real state company don't want Lumion images because they're still to far from realistic. All of the biggest Archviz companies use either Unreal, Vray or Corona. But if someday Lumion improves reflection, ray tracing, volumetric lights, PBR materials and render Elements, then it's going to be a competition.
I know this is the end of lumion, more library and more material no update for the engine Since the program was build on Quest 3D and this is the limitation of the engine Thanks lumion team for every things but I missed Quest 3D
@@007shabeeb not better, but easier to use, faster, cheaper and run on low specs. pcs and results are great too. For small projects and small studios still the best software.
@@tictactoetom Jesus, guys Orthographic view exists since roman empire and first architectual drawings. Enscape had it first, hope you are not serious. Ortho in CG softwares exist since first 3ds max in 1980 or something like that. Fuck.
