I am so glad I held on to both my S5 despite temptation to "upgrade". Also I have not updated to latest firmware, which gives me a chance to check the latest firmware on one of my S5s against last year's firmware V2.4 on on my 2nd S5.
Hello Man! Nice video as usual, The Lumix S5 is a very good camera, I have my s5IIX but as the second camera I am still using my BMPCC4k, I can match them both ok, Is pretty interesting to see how good the s5 is. Now I am personally on a quest hahaha I am saving money from now on to get my hands on the future S1H mark 2, now this buy is just because for a long time my dream camera has been the S1H, I love the form factor the weight, the image, but when I got the money for the s1h the s5IIx was already out so I went for s5IIx, but me buying the s1h2 is just because I know I am going to love it, I just hope they keep the same or similar form factor as well as the price (if rumors are true the price might be a bit higher, let see) hahaha
Thanks bro! I can't wait to see what the S1H ii brings to the table. I will upgrade to it down the line but I'm not in a rush. I can't wait to see what you create with it bro. Subbed!
I got the s5ii, and for what I do - it's plenty good. I think the iix raw codecs are a lot better looking. Being said, i agree the s5 looks better, and it's a stupid good value right now - people are selling them for 600-800$ on facebook. That's a no brainer for anyone looking to get into pro work on a budget
I love my S5ii and I would choose it over my S5 OG 95% of the time. But budget is a big factor for most people and like you say the S5 OG used is an insane deal at the moment. #LumixGang
there is something about the OG S5 that is lacking in the S5mkll there is some character to the image the camera produces that makes me love it, and for some reason I find myself going out with this camera every day even when I don't plan to shoot. I love my GH5 and my S1H but is like this S5 hooks me the more. I am looking at the 24-70 f2 to match. It's childish to complain about the autofocus because for what this camera is made for, you'll be doing manual focusing. I am aware before I make my move, I have No regret, you earned my sub.
No subs you're Gang bro!!! I feel you on the image quality difference and the S5 being a camera that you just want to take with you...My S5 is with me right now 😂😂😂 Thanks again for stopping by and checking out the video.
Great video! Never thought that the upgraded autofocus would hinder the image quality 🤷🏾♂️ love my S5, pair up with the Ninja and it’s a cinema beast!
Thanks for the tests. Yeah, sad to hear about the worse image quality of the S5 II. I am thinking of getting the Ninja V for my S5 OG and then converting the ProRes RAW to Cinema DNG for use in DaVinci Resolve.. unless I can find a great deal on the BMD Video Assist 12G. Also, just subscribed to your channel.
No problem bro and V Log in to S5 ii is ok but the other profiles not so much. I had the Blackmagic video assist 12g when I had the S5 OG the first time and the BRAW image quality is nice. I may get it again if I can find one at a decent price also. Thanks for watching and commenting on the video! #LumixGang
@@Bigcookfilms Thanks for the confirmation that on the S5II the V-LOG is ok. Yeah, the worst looking sample footage had been shot in the standard picture profiles. In reality, I try to shoot in V-LOG 95% of the time, but there are certain times that you got to just turn around quickly. Thanks again.
#LumixGang great work. The S5 OG's image is amazing. i am never getting rid of my OG S5. I still got my eyes on the S5 IIX . Hopefully will get it this year. keep up the good the work.
Help me G. What is the best AF setting for the OG S5? I am struggling with it in video mode like hell. Always loses focus. I shoot models all the time and when I have the focus and go closeer or further with human/eye detect AF I cannot go that slow to never lose focus of the face, however I only take a few steps further or behind.
This was the exact video I needed. However, I would have loved to see the autofocus shot at f2.8 rather than around f12 as it doesn't seem to reflect the true capabilities of the speed of the autofocus.
@@Bigcookfilmsthe shots of your son with the ball, why are the backgrounds in all those shots so in focus? I am curious as I am on the verge of purchasing one of these bodies.
