In the first shot where you held something Infront of the camera. Which one is the S5 mark ii? The one on the right? Cos the one of the left has a horrible skin tone
@@NolanGunn this is serious. Because anyone who doesn't get this explanation might feel that the S5ii has a bad Color Science. I know you might be quite busy. But please if you have time can you do another short video comparing the too mainly on Colour Science. I will subscribe now to your channel
Nice! I'm super glad you were the one to introduce me to the S5ii, as I still live in G85 and GX85 land, so I'm not ready to apply this knowledge YET, but it gives me something to look forward to (and I'm still appreciating your older videos on the G85, etc.)
@@A1Bokeh Thanks bro!! I think I think I'm starting to learn this, and there are SO many things you can do with the Micro Four Thirds format (that you can't do with full frame) that I don't think I'll ever switch but just add a full frame to my kit. Telephoto lenses are SO much smaller on Micro Four Thirds, SHIFT and TILT/SHIFT adapters are awesome (not available on full frame, except for when using rare and expensive medium format lenses) plus you can adapt almost any lens ever made to Micro Four Thirds!😀!
And on the body... 1. Bigger more comfortable grip 2. Fan to address overheating 3. No dangly camera stap toggles. This is by far the best camera around thus price point.
I had an FX30 (APSC Sony) but after i got this, I sold the Sony straight away. The recovery is unbelievable from VLOG. Literally can't believe how much room i have before clipping. It's actually amazing. Also, 6k open gate is actually 3 times the resolution of 4k. The noise is so fine grain and easy to squash. This camera actully blew my mind.
That 3:2 aspect ratio is huge. You can obviously do vertical video like you said, but also shoot proper anamorphic. Personally, I just like the boxier aspect ratio too 😂 so retro
nicely presented, thanks. I won't be getting one for a while, maybe when the black friday sales come around I will be tempted. I mostly do short shots, on manual lenses with controlled lighting.
The biggest difference is the image quality with the regular video profiles (Standard, Cine etc). The S5 and S1 are way better, the S5II looks oversharpened with a lot of noise reduction.
can you turn down sharpness or add a mist filter to the lens to fine-tune the image? Watching some youtube videos, the skin color has an unpleasant magenta cast. Is it the case? @@aiseurnae5976
thank you for your review. what about the features, the new S5ii has not longer? 😢i miss the precapture, live-composite and starry-af which i really enjoyed!
Hi, thanx for your informativ little Video! In your first side by side comparison, i realaised a great difference in the skintones. I sold my old S5 because of that and switched to Nikon. Evan though i loved the Panasonic camera very much! I still think, that the s5 is the better choice...just the colors out of camera are so much better with Nikon. How would you discribe the with the S5ii? Thanx for a Shirt answer.
@@alexpryamotok4210 no. I got a $900 on it once but that's still too low. I'll just keep saving up. By the time the S5iii comes out, I can afford the ii. 😂
