This is extraordinarily helpful. I was stressing about doing an effect with a ball of light, and lighting it practically first. But this looks great!

I did everything right, but the track motion is not working. The light does not follow exactly the position of the top of the wand.

I would add some motion blur to add some heat signatures since the original films added them to seem like they were real light giving off heat. It made it all the more genuine. I like this approach though.

For that color grading, I first used hue and saturation effect - decreased the saturation. Then curves effect to bring in more blue tones, you can also increase green and decrease red. For final touches you can use Lumetri Color - increase contrast and maybe decrease the highlights. And you can also add a vignette (I used a regular mask, feathered the edges and decreased its opacity).

Cau I need advice on this track. Everything nicely sprayed as it should be, but the track as if it continues to me yet another place to stand. And then my light goes where it doesn't. I did it according to your instructions, but it didn't do you just there. Please porad. And the second thing makes me sick. You'll know what's wrong with it. I had to apply the settings from the track motion that I manually made to NULL and nothing happened. There's just a square, and that's it. It's normal for you and not me. And I did it anyway. What can it be?

Of course when the track doesn't go well, you have to adjust it manually. After apllying the tracking data to null, you have to open transform properties of this null and copy the position keyframes. Then open Black Solid - Lens Flare - Flare center and paste the position data here (excatly as in the tutorial at 2:05). This will make the lens flare move with your tracked object.

You need to have it enabled in order to make that brightness change throughout the video.

go on effects and presets and then you can look it up in the search bar. if you can't find effects and presets, you can go to "window", click on "effects and presets and it should be there. 👍
