Amazing transformation, must have taken ages of playing around with settings to come up with this! Can you do this in Premiere? A lot of the correction tools are the same in both but after effects obviously has more
@@dalulu418 I actually tried this yesterday, you don't have the 'levels' effect in premiere which is what he is using to create the white areas. You can do something similar with the contrast and white balance in lumetri. I overlayed a video of snow and it works pretty well but depends on the source material of course. This forest looks really good but it doesn't work as well on a street scene
@@IgnaceAleya1 these aren't just words bro, it's a feeling from heart, I've learnt lot of things from your channel from last 1 year and I keep an eye to people whom I have subbed and your channel is not flourishing this just makes me sad.
Hi Ignace, quick tip for you, instead of sliding your particular layer over so all particles are already spawned, you can go into the "Emission Extras" section within the emitter section, and change the "Pre-Run" value to 100%. This value controls how much of the total particles are spawned on the first frame of the layer 🙂 Also, great tutorial, that was a way cool way to achieve a snowy look! ❄
@@valtteri247 He is right. Yes there would be a difference in lighting and other factors but with some tweaking it could be fixed. Also make it easier by using a costume that already looked like it was used in snow or something like that. It doesn't always have to be a digital effect.
Great tutorial! One thing I would have added at the end is a separation of the snow particles that cross the sky and those that cross the environment. The sky would be so much brighter that the snow crossing it would look darker. The snow would be in silhouette. Cheers!
Wow, that's great. It looks super realistic when you remember it's made in AE. Great job. It looks very good. Will it be possible to do this effect on houses as well? Like make the roof covered in snow etc.
Watching this desperatly, as I had planned to film a music video in the northern US over Christmas... because of course we would have a white Christmas there, right? Wrong! 😭 Sooo... now I'm trying to fix the fall-look footage as quickly as possible.
For the fog coming too close to the camera, an option to prevent it from looking strange when the camera goes through it is to keyframe the opacity from 100, depending on how far away it is, to zero just before the layer crosses paths with the camera. You can add an elliptical mask with a lot of feathering as well for depth.
Firstly, I’d rather this weren’t public for I think it’s best served as one on one constructive criticism because I’m interested in how this effect is done but I’m 3:30 into the video and I’ve learned nothing. Sorry, but if you’re trying to emulate the style of Film Riot, then be succinct like they are. I’ve watched on to 5min and now it’s a sponsor thing,... you lost me. I hope you get sharper because you have potential. Regards: Ginski
an easy way to locate the effect you're looking for would be to use Video Copilot's VFX console. It's a free plug-in and makes finding effects much quicker. Here's the link: www.videocopilot.net/blog/2018/05/fx-console-updated-to-v1-0-3/
Great tutorial! Only thing I noticed was you mentioned you were using an off white solid like real snow however when you added your fx you turned it back to pure white. Might be better to add the off white tint at the end as a grade
That was the easiest like and sub in my life.you are a master. What if there is a subject 8n the scene, like a human?how can we isolate the subject so all these effects won't apply to our subject?
Can confirm, I did a snow scene and tricked a lot of friends and family. Everyone thought (some still think) that it is actually real. Good job on that!
When you deduct the eternal nagging and attention of the 18 minutes, you are left with 2 minutes of good information. It is a pity that there are so few good information films where the content means more than the attention.
Can you make a video on it who also don't have this place also not snow or in short how to place a person like that he or she is actually their in real
