Lumos smart bike helmet unboxing and first impressions 

I own a Lumos MIPS black because I ride in e-bike (VTC) and sometimes have to drive on roads (to reach bike paths and trails). It is light and fits well on all heads thanks to its wheel. In flash mode I recharge it every 3-4 races (~ 3x 50-80 km) because I only turn it on in flash mode on road and/or after sunset (only half the time or less ) because in the middle of the day it was hardly possible to see me. But knowing that motorists do not look at cyclists, I know I'm not immune to an accident. So in addition I spread the arm to turn and I stuck reflective strips on the outside of the arms, in the back and on the rim of the wheels +reflectors. We are never too careful. I use the Lumos standalone (without smartphone). -- Je possède un Lumos MIPS noir car je roule en VTC (VAE) et dois parfois emprunter des routes (pour rejoindre des pistes cyclables et des chemins). Il est léger et se fixe bien sur toutes les têtes grâce à sa molette. En mode flash je le recharge toutes les 3-4 courses (~3x 50-80 km) car je ne l'allume en mode flash que sur route et/ou après le coucher du Soleil (soit à peine la moitié du temps voire moins) car en pleine journée s'est à peine si on me voit. Mais sachant que les automobilistes ne regardent pas les cyclistes, je sais que je ne suis pas à l'abri d'un accident. Donc en plus j'écarte le bras pour tourner et j'ai collé des bandes réfléchissantes sur la partie extérieure des bras, dans le dos et sur la jante des roues + des catadioptres. On n'est jamais trop prudent. J'utilise le Lumos sans smartphone.

I used the lumos app this morning but it looks it used my battery more. Before I left home, the app shows 82% battery and when I got to work only 32% left (40min, 14km ride) that's 50% usage, wow! I used the slow flashing mode on my helmet. Can someone pls confirm that the Lumos app makes my helmet battery drain more? If yes, I won't use the app anymore while riding. I will stick to my strava. Thanks.

Actually, there are front indicators. If you turn right, the right side of the front blinks just as the back does.

I received this helmet as a birthday present from my daughter and son (they bought with their own money, their savings), It's a beautiful helmet, very well done, the features are amazing, people can see it and are amaze with the look. BUT unfortunately it never was able to sinc with my Apple iWatch, for which I contact the manufacturer and they suggest to wash the video showing how to set it up, first I did, didn't work, then my kids, and still the same story. And here's another BUT the controller on the handlebar now it looks like it melted, I'm guessing the material isn't strong with use and weather, I sent pictures to the manufacturer, they replied but never took care of the problem, like sending another remote or a different solution, so if you buy it, make sure the store give you a written warranty, I reported it after three months after I got it, exchanging emails until they stopped coming and a year passed and that was the warranty, still works BUT they way it supposed to work of the ways it was engineered. But the features still work, specially at night

Are the front lights effective in lighting up the way when riding in the dark?

Unbedingt vor Kauf bei Amazon Lumos Kickstart bei dem Artikel mit ca.1225 Bewertungen schauen, was mit dem Helm bei Regen passiert. Fotos sind zu sehen. Hätte ich mal vorher geschaut, meiner hat das selbe Problem. Nimmt sich der Hersteller nur nichts von an. Schon befremdlich. If I had looked before, mine has the same problem. If the manufacturer does not accept anything. Already strange...
