I was very loopy after I woke up from surgery because of anesthesia. We tried to get all the cancer out by doing a lumpectomy/partial mastectomy and lymph node removal.

Samantha, you make me laugh and you make me cry. I went through all of these procedures in 2021, and I didn’t get to get my husband accompanying me in the hospital because of the pandemic😅. I share so much similar feelings and emotions with you throughout this journey. You and your family are amazing. Best wishes for you ❤❤❤

I'm looking at this type of surgery on the 23rd of this month. I haven't had all the other procedures you have, though. I hope I don't have the same reaction, but this was funny. After my husband's vasectomy, his reaction to the anesthesia he had was hysterical. He got up off the exam table and sang James Brown's "I feel good." When he was resting later, I asked if he wanted some of the fried chicken the rest of us were having for dinner, and he replied, "Fried Chicken?! NO!! Bring on the DANCING GIRLS!!"

I absolutely loved this video. You are so brave. I loved how mad you were. Lol. When you’re going through all of this it’s good to be mad . Get it out. Then you can have a great laugh too. I had a lumpectomy. Then a quarter of the breast removed , then the mastectomy. The doctor should of listened to me and removed the entire breast the first time. Hang in there. God bless you.

Your mum has exactly the same face expressions as you, that's so cute. Congrats girl! Crossing fingers your next video will bring only good news. Btw I'd have the same reaction even without anesthesia if someone kept touching my feet 😂 I hate that so much

I haven’t read through all of these responses, so I don’t know if any other medical professional has responded to tell you the reason why you can’t wear contacts. But, when you are put under general anesthesia you are put on a paralytic. That paralyzes all of your muscles including your ability to keep your eyes closed. So they put a gel in your eyes and tape your eyelids shut.? This does not bode well for your eyes if you have contacts in them. But, when your head your egg retrieval you were probably put under what is commonly referred to as “twilight” which is a sleep that does not require a paralytic and that does not require a tube down your throat to breathe for you.
@SamanthaL
@SamanthaL 4 года назад
Yep, I was under twilight for the egg retrieval and general anesthesia for the lumpectomy. Thanks for the explanation! I did not know that :)

So I was notified of your reply and yeah you're right you can pretty much do anything you want and it would be awesome if you got the opportunity to become a part of research so that no one has to go through what you're going through at the young age of 20. I'm hearing or seeing stories of alleged diagnosis at 16 with like zero family history it's insane. Remember not all cancer is Pink and I hope you're following me. I hope to participate in my area more than pink event coming up in a couple of months.

I started with this video so I don't really know your story, but my younger sister just got diagnosed with HR+ breast cancer 3 days after her 30th birthday. Still waiting on her HER2 and BRCA results since that will dramatically affect her surgery and overall treatment. She's extremely anxious of course.
@SamanthaL
@SamanthaL 4 года назад
Hi, sorry to hear about your sister. The time just after getting diagnosed can be very hectic, confusing, and stressful. If I can answer any questions or help ease anxiety, let me know. I respond to Instagram messages @samanthalynn_r

Thank you! I have since watched your diagnosis and it sounds like you have the "same" type of tumor. Her estrogen receptor level was 95%! I think her biggest concerns right now are whether she will need chemo and how bad it will be as well as the egg retrieval process (IE. Will she need hormone injections beforehand and will that be a bad idea since her tumor feeds off estrogen). She is also worried about the drain after surgery. I am going to watch your channel today to learn more from your journey. I hope you are doing well now (or as well as you can - I have a serious chronic illness so I know how much it can change your life). 💕 Brandi

Count yourself as blessed as to have the option of egg retrieval because with these mutations and depending on people's situations not everyone does and I'm shocked that you have that option because you have to wait till you're a year older than you are to have a tubal ligation. Do you know what happens if in the future you decide not to use your eggs?
@SamanthaL
@SamanthaL 5 лет назад
Yes, I am very, very thankful to have had that opportunity! Different things can happen depending on what I decide. They can either be destroyed, donated, or used for research
